In Company Of Heroes when you deploy the Defensive Smoke, it just seems to fire upwards from the turret and then explode. Not very realistic. How did that work in real life? Anybody know?
-
The smoke launchers from the Tiger Ace campaign fire differently.
-
Yeah, i know... I guess i could ask about that, too. Thanks.
-
He says the smoke firing animation on the Sherman shows the turret firing upward and then the smoke is released around the tank instead of dedicated smoke launchers.
-
i think they fired sideways with the turret rotateing to get best effect

Shermans Burn up so much gasoline, its a wonder how they don't make a smoke screen with all there exhaust. :D

Balance, Seeme, balance.

I guess any tank, by their very nature, would use up a great deal of fuel anyway, wouldn't they?
-
The Red Ball Express (a huge "army" of trucks) was used to keep the tanks running. It was a massive operation. Tanks do indeed use up a lot of fuel i guess about 100 liters per ten klicks

There is a hole from the bottom of the tanks. May be the pop the smoke grenades from there :P

The Abrams sprays fuel on a heated surface to create its smoke countermeasures. Banned in Afghanistan though.
