In Vanilla company of heroes, how do you counter a fast m3 or fast m8 as PE? I've been trying to figure this out, cause in computer matches, I can both counter M3 and M8 spam and beat PE Cpus with fast m3s or fast m8s. But, against real players, I am unsure of what to do. Do you use Panzerschrecks, Marder IIIs, At grenades, what? M8s can circle strafe Marder IIIs. M3s can simply withdraw from them, kill PGs somewhat quickly, and is not bad at killing at grenade pgs.

Marders should allways support each other. If you cant build 2 dont build them at all. Treadbreaker or Teller mines can stop any vechicle and US vechicles are easier to hit by shrecks and AT nades when they dont move. Light AT halftracks have a littlelonger gun range and can even fire at tanks while being out of range themselves. Mortar halftracks do x2 damage to M3 Halftracks and Greyhounds.
So in short, you need to stop that vechicle first and should gather some munitions in early game becouse teller mines and treadbreaker costs.
Edit: If M-8 is circlestrafing your Marder you can try to run your infantry or other vechicles in front of it. Only tank destroyers, medium and heavy tanks can crush infantry.

Pak 38s when cloaked are a viable counter too.

As PE.

Use any combination of at least 2 forms of (reliable) PE AT. These include:
Shreks
Marder
ATHT
Hetzer
So I might for example go for T3 and get a Marder. I would then build T4 and get an ATHT which is actually cheaper fuelwise than a second Marder. This way, the ATHT can treadbreak a vehicle and the Marder can punish it from range. Or you might get a Marder and a couple shrek squads to prevent circling of your Marder. In any case, only 1 type of AT will be too unreliable. PE AT works best in combination. Note I didn't include mines or AT nades in this because they're too unreliable.

Thank you Paciat and GodlikeDennis! M8 and M3 spammers will fall to PE dominance! Hooray!

If you have a Marder being circle-strafed, does it help to position it on a road so that it turns faster? Or is the M8 just too fast?

No, roads dont increase rotation, just top speed. But it will help if the terrain around the Marder isnt flat. Check this for terrain dependent speed info:

It doesn't increase rotation as someone else said. M8 would still be too fast. What I would do is have another Marder III back enough so it cannot circle strafe both. I almost never pick Tank Destroyer Tactics, so I always use Tank Busters, Marder III, AND at halftrack

i go for the shrek squads, but them in inf halftracks to hunt the m3, m8s down but bring in a back up unit such as anti-inf, that can hold off other inf and repair things, g43 squad?

You best bet is to go Panzershreck heavy, and then put them into a group of 3 panzershreck wielding men. If they continue with armor, go TD doctrine, and get double AT weapons, that way instead of 3 Panzershrecks, you have 6. Also, when you vet your Panzer-Grenadiers with Panzershreck, go triple defensive, that way enemy tanks won't pose as much of a threat as usual. Finally, as a last ditch resort, get At grenades.

The easist way to deal with a armoured car circleing you is driving backwards with the marder and blocking the armoured car with a kettenkrad, swimwagen or PGrenadiers.

Don't PG run away from M8 ???
-
Yah but the M8 gets slower too.

I know this topic as been untouched for a LONG time, I wanted to say the successes I have been having cause I started playing since April this year again. I like to do ATHT + Panzerschrecks. My ATHT moves in to break the vehicle's wheels, then my Panzerschrecks fire at it.
For the Luftwaffe Doctrine, do you guys consider the Flak 36 and the Nashorn to be reliable forms of AT?

Hello irik, I would suggest you to try the PE T1 route. Go scout cars, secure high resource sectors, and fight on those terrirory, along side your locked scout cars, bunched fairly close to each other, preferably sectors near VPs. Get a good resource boost, get T1 upgrades and go T4 for ATHTs. AT nades are very powerful. Playing defensively against US is a good idea as US will not be able to field units as fast as you because of it's horrible manpower drain until mid game, even if they control larger area than you and have more pop cap. So, securing sectors early is the key. If you do that, then you'll have a great base to build from. Your PGs will be powerful with 4 man, with ATHTs and AT nades they can handle even Tank Depot units on their own(even more true with TD doctrine), by the time you will easily have access to marders anyway. Try this route. Going T2 as the first building will provide you with good offensive abilities, but versus US, doesn't help much, as US ARE the offensive faction in this match up,not the PE! So, utilize your STRENGTH, i.e early game resource securing, which is easily defendable, and then produce the shit load of units very soon. US will not be able to match your unit production speed until mid game, even if it has more pop cap than you. US are meant to play offensively, because if it does not deny enemy resources, it will not be able to match unit production speed, and will get mp blocked soon. PE doesn't have such problems with manpower.
