Sorry for the delay, but it's time for the next sneaky peaky and as promised, will be a video depicting some Ostheer units.

We are going to make and show some videos depicting Ostheer units, for now we have planned three videos about Infantry Gruppen Post, Schutzen War Camp and Panzerkampf Kommand units that will be shown one for each month.

This is the first video so, be ready to watch our Infantry Gruppen Post units in action!

I'd give the MG-34 a different sound that isnn't the 42's buzz, unless they really made similar firing sounds.

And what rifle does the Heckenschuzte (or whatever) have? What does Heckenschutze even mean? Hell-shooter?

Heckenschutze is just a placeholder name, Lord Rommel is away and we were under a tight schedule so I just made it up as I went alone >_>

Anyway, he has a MKb42 semi-automatic rifle, which can be upgraded to an MP44 with Infantry Modernisation.

Yes that's probably because I upgraded to Infantry Modernisation halfway through the game for a bit of variety. I think the code for that is early so the model itself doesn't change yet.

Nice video Dave, love how you did the crossover from posters to the actual battle scene! I'm glad I could assist you with the names.
Also great work on those beautiful models and skins. To catch every detail, you have to watch the video at least 20 times :P

It means something like hedge-shooter. Someone who is sneaky shooting you from the nearest hedgerow. Stealthy and evil.

May I ask which map that is?

Nah, that's far too big. I suggest the following:

HQ as usual

T1 - Wehrmacht T1 (Y)
T2 - Wehrmacht T2 or PE T1/T2
T3 - Wehrmacht T4 or PE T3/T4

Who edits together your videos? I've always been impressed with the quality. This one reaches a new height though.

Those skins are top-notch. The vid was totally worth the wait :D.

I think OH should have their own T3 building. Since OH calls in their buildable tanks from off-map once built (or so we've been told awhile ago), they don't need a building animation. Maybe just give them the radio icon above the structure while it's building something. I'd like to see the OH with one unique building at least.

It's WartyX's job.

+1. I'm dreaming of the Wehrmacht's Kampfkraft Center as the T3 building of the Ostheer. Just make it fully upgraded with its exterior so it looks like a radio control station with its fancy tower.

It's not a 17 pounder, it's a 76mm ZiS-3 fieldgun, even it says something else (because the localisation is wrong).

The price is ok IMO. If you want a cheaper emplacement equal to this, try the Commowealth 17 pounder which lacks the anti infantry capabilities of the ZiS-3 though.

I dont know actually. Perhaps. I know that in vCOH the volks have caps and the grenadiers helmets to make the grenadiers look more like regular german soldiers and the volks to be drafted 3 weeks boot camp soldiers XD

IRL it was more of a choice to the soldier himself if he wanted to wear a helmet or not. It protect slighly agansinst shrapnel but its kind of heavy. Enough Off topic!

Yay Patch! :D Its really great to see that this mod is making progress and just doesnt die away like many others! Great job guys! We appreciate it! :D

I wouldn't either..... but it would be weird if there was a vehicle or something that was produced out of a structure that was smaller than the produced unit.

Tunic for the Heckenschütze got terrible colouration. Never exists in this way in WW2 for German army. Your skin maker watched too much "Enemy at the gates" I guess ;D. Better and historicaly correct would be some camo like a Splinter smock with hood. The hood got a net to cover the face. That was what German snipers wore in the russian campaign.

And this is why we are playing a game not fighting a war, Caen.

He is supposed to look unique and the Devs choose to give him this particular tunic camo, so you can tell him apart from everybody else, plus he isn't a sniper, he is more of a Marksman than a Sniper, because he doesn't use a sniper rifle, he uses an MKb42 w/ scope to provide MID-CLOSE RANGE support, not long range support

The video has saturated his tunic a little so it seems much more luminous than it actually is. I am well aware the tunic isn't historically accurate and I don't really care, just like Relic didn't really care. It's very difficult to find uniforms that are different enough from the other factions to warrant making and since the Ostheer is an early-mid war faction we want to use as little camo as possible.

Also, there's nothing wrong with a little movie inspiration... game developers do it pretty much constantly...

I remember the HL1 mod DOD having that entire scen as a map. It was called Ramelle or something I think? Even the record player with that French song what its now called are there XD

First i must say: I LOVE this mod,great job dudes. about the MG34: I'm not sure but doesn't the Tiger have a hull-mounted MG34? i remember reading it in the tiger-ace campaign and i have to say that the sound of that gun is very similar,but not exactly the same as the MG42 HMG, so it's hard to hear a difference

ok i see. i know it's a little off-topic,but since we're at it, the Sd.Kfz 251 Halftrack of the wehr has two MG42, the one at the rear has the proper sound,the front one has a completely different one,any chances of changing that?

But has the model of the MG42. I think relic made this to distinguish betweeen an enemy attacks from the front or the back.

As someone who uses the HT often, this really annoyed me and was one of the major reasons I now use a soundpack.

Can't you just change the soundfiles for the next patch? :) and are there any chances of the OH featuring the Opel Blitz as an unarmed Inf.Transporter? i'd love to see it since the opel blitz was a major vehicle of the german army like the kuebelwagen or panzer IV

EF has a policy of not changing vCoH in any way (there are a couple small exceptions).

You can exspect the release by the end of this year, but much more likely you will see it in early 2012. Actually, it's done when it's done. Just be patient and until then, enjoy the Soviet faction. :)

like lag? I have that same problem, try lowering settings (do this before you play online game beforehand), and exit any outside stuff. In vcoh, I listen to my playlist always when i play coh, but i can't do that in ef because it will lag the game.

also your team may get pissed and kick you if your lag is really bad.

When I playing normal COH Tales of Valor I have not suspension state but using this mod the game often have this state in some time. I do not use any programs during of the game.
