Title: problem playing soviets
Post by: mikronim on August 25, 2011, 05:21:59 PM
I downloaded and installed the eastern front mod on a computer in a gaming zone and although everything worked properly ( ef maps, ef reward units, etc) i couldn't select the soviet faction in game setup( it appeared to have a lock next to the name) when i selected it a notification came up not allowing me to play them....
Does anyone know the reason this happens??

By gaming zone you mean a place where they have lots of LANed up computers? These places usually use cracked versions of games so EF won't work with that.

yes exactly.... but i don't think they are cracked because steam games for example log into a steam account and everything ef works except for the faction :( ... Is it needed to log into relic in order to play soviets?

Its needed to have the latest version of CoH, in this case 2.602. If you have an inferior patch you won't be able to use soviets.

You only need to update your game to 2.602, it doesn't matter if you installed EF before updating. Don't worry about it.

You can get them from here:

Do you install it with admin rights or just copied it?

Also, you can make a shorcut if you like:
