Title: Does veterancy help Ingenery at all?
Post by: irik on August 30, 2011, 06:13:16 PM
Ingenery (unupgraded) are horrible at fighting. To me, they're only good at capping and building. I'll admit it, they're not bad at fighting pioneers. After Sturmovie Ingenery upgrade, I think unupgraded Ingenery can use satchel charges and get flamethrower upgrades. I remember a match, one of my Ingenery squads got veterancy. But, they suck. What the crap does veterancy do to Ingenery?

Combining the stuff found by Paciat and the recent changes... we got this ;D:

Ingenery Veterancy
 - Veterancy 1: Armour changed to Airborne
 - Veterancy 2: 1.2 accuracy modifier
 - Veterancy 2: 0.75 cooldown modifier
 - Veterancy 3: 1.2 Damage modifier

Plus they get +10HP when Sturmovies are researched and another +10HP when Street Fighting is purchased.

Using my rudimentary math skills :P

30= Regular engineer
30+10= 40 = Sturm engineer
30+10+10= 50 = Street Sturm engineer

Hooray ;D

Do not confuse Ingenery with Sturmovie Ingenery, both are different units.

If sturm engineers have so little health (40hp) how are they able to rush assault grenaders and still be victorious ???. What is their armor? Elite?

They have their own armor type that's fairly protective, much based off of the Solider Armor IIRC but toned down to match a more balanced perspective and to make sure their suppression values are in line. In 1.4 they could charge 2 MGs at once and receive no suppression.

Sturmovie actually now have 80hp per man IIRC and their armour type is based off soldier. The rest of what Cranial said is correct.

Which armor did they have in 1.4? Wasn't it elite? I knew we tweaked with Solider Armor a bit to create "Sturmovie Armor" but I could swear they had elite values in 1.4.

Was a type error on my part, it's kind of late and I've been in rushes recently with work + school.

They used to have infantry armour IIRC, but had bonus on penetration modifiers (usually used at tanks).

Yeah they had penetration, received damage and received suppression mods I think but only 40 health. Their mods were so powerful that the 40 health wasn't a drawback anyway. I think they may have had heroic criticals back then too, so snipers weren't a counter either.

I should have used them a lot more then... :D

Wait so they sturm engineers have 80 hp? And street sturms have 90? Im confused now ??? So geting the sturm upgrade essentially doubles their hp

Then again :), do not confuse Ingenery with Sturmovie Ingenery.

Ingenery:
* 4 man squad.
* Can get a Flamethrower with Sturmovie ingenery upgrade.
* 30 HP each one. Can upgrade their health with Sturmovie ingenery(+10HP) and Street Fighting(+10HP) upgrades.
* 4 mosins.

Sturmovie Ingenery:
* 4 man squad. Can increase it's number through vet.
* Can get two Flamethrowers with Street Fighting upgrade.
* 80 HP each one.
* 3 PPSH, 1 Minesweeper

As you might guess, nope. Otherwise it would say in that small chart above I made.
