Eastern Front Patch 1.51
'Fall In!'
Eastern Front Fans,
The 1.51 patch is now released. It tweaks some units stats in order to let them be better balanced for the upcoming tournament. It also fix some issues with the Fortress Mode, implemented in the previous patch.This patch upgrades Eastern Front from version 1.501 to 1.510.
Besides, Rizz fixed some bugs on the Eastern Front launcher, and the language file was updated so now supports Simplified Chinese and Spanish, and has the new German translation.
We have planned to add a Simplified Chinese translation patch to Eastern Front since the last patch, in order to let Chinese players choose between using Simplified or Traditional character sets (only applicable to Eastern Front lines), but due to real life issues we haven't been able to make it; nonetheless, the moment for that event is close... stay tunned ;).

Is it just me or is EF not working. I installed the patch and now it keeps saying EF Launcher has stopped working.
EDIT: NVM it works. I just had to restart my comp :P. I like the new sliding download bar ;D

I just tried fortress mode. I saw the Jagdtiger ;D ;D. Was it there b4?
Anyways I think I found another problem with fortress mode :P
The flak gun that the mechs can build(not the 85mm one). When the cpu tries to recrew it the infantry icon appears but they just sit there.
Also when I treid to confirm this by looking at the replay it says sync error and the time elapsed go by but all the infantry are just standing around and the flak guns dissapear.

the anti inf flak that the mechs can build never worked for me and the targeting mouse icon is like the one for droping mines form a M8. the range wasnt correct and never shot anything it just sat there but can u consider co op for that because that be a fun EF operation add on :)

U should have a mustering tent done by the time u get a CS but if redguard normally wins with a CS and just ingenerys well he must be playing 1.0 or hes somekind of sacthel charge magican :P

no. having a mustering tent before getting CS pushes back the spawning of the CS. now soviet is unbalanced in the early game cause they dont start with units and have to build ingenery, then a tent, then get conscripts or CS squad. soviets have no way unless they ingenery spam to actually fight early game and take points

You still spawn the CS out of the HQ. They will pop out approximatly at the same time.
Play the game THEN Complain.
This was implemented to stop conscript/CS spam early in team games particularly. CS squads can take on a Volk and a half and with Conscripts they're actually a pretty deadly force, especially with flanking tactics VS Mgs.
With this delay you won't see CS sitting on the high/medium fuel in the middle of the map before you get your second T0/T1 unit out as Axis.

Like the work and never had any problem with EF before. But now, after I installed the patch I've got an issue. When I was trying to start a game with an ai just to try the new patch out, it's loading. And smack, the game starts with an error text in the game. I still see the game, map, can click on buildings and "train" infantry. But back to the error text. It says: Executable AI error.
What to do?
Maybe I missed some info. Anyone that have an answer to that?

normally i go 2 ingenery first one capps since no starting unit your already losing at the capping war but now im going to have to build a tent first and the second one will cap so ill have to wait for a 100 mp after my second ingenery for a CS

Building 2 Ingys isn't Viable. They are too weak for combat even in groups so it's best to just build 1, build a tent, move on. Let the Ingy cap while the others harass Pios, Volks, PGrens etc. When you win engagements spread out and cap.

no. the whole point of having the cs squad before the tent was to have a unit that can actually be of value early game. it was always a stratagey to have the CS squad spawning while the mustering tent was building.its already bad enough the soviets dont have a starting unit. i have played the game and now its a unit i dont even use anymore. its something inbetween conscripts and Red Banner strelky. they are a pain to get vet for and the only good ability is the artillery strike. and if you have a problem with massing of conscripts and CS squad early, that is what a mg team is for inside a building. :P

Whether it is or isn't balanced this is going to change gameplay and tactics alot :(. It used to be rush CS out and try and gain a foothold where ever you wanted. Now this is delayed but you will essentially have larger force. However you are now more suceptable to having to deal with a dumb MG in a a house that has like 6 fricken windows >:( and overlooks a VP. Your not getting that back :(

A MG in a building is worse than a MG in heavy cover. MG's are easily flanked by conscript hordes early game and with molotovs they wither:
I think your timing is way off in 1.5. Your CS should hit the field at about the same time as your Conscripts anyway, even if you que both Ingy and CS at the same time.

This. Admittedly, now the CS will probably come out a little slower than the first conscript, instead of before where it came out a little faster. IMO those few lost seconds aren't really a big deal, and its fine the way it is right now. This was a precaution to guard against the "Soviet 4ES", which was basically a stronger version of US 4ES. Instead of having to resort to Engineers and mines to protect the snipers, Soviets could use 2-3 Ingenery and a CS (that could also detect countersnipers) to defend their snipers much more easier than 4 US Engineers could.
A lot of noobs make a big deal out of the very early game combat and build orders, but its actually mid-late game (where you will be losing manpower left and right) that matters the most.

As long as everyone or at least a majority of the people are satisfied with the change :P then I don't really mind. I don't play EF too much anymore so it doesn't really matter to me. Too much comp stomp or 3vs3 or 4vs4 annihilate :P

i dont mind it :).Fishunter a good time to play EF is around the afternoon since thats when evryones home form work and classes are over.

i wonder if there's an interesting adaptation to be added with that in mind.
simply have regular tanks have ability for guards to ride the tanks. maybe as doctrinal ability would fit breakthrough ?

i dont have problems with that anyway. i never even bother with a command squad it requires utmost micro to vet up. its just a better than volks but less than really anything less.

Can I check if it is possible to include the ZiS 3 as an option in the 'customize army' instead of replacing it with the 76mm altogether? Also, it is possible to allow a max of 3 artillery pieces to be built (similar to Katyusha limits)? Really missed the ZiS 3 and really seemed odd that the mighty soviets only have one miserable piece of arty.

I've got a problem about this MOD. when I play ef1.51 about 10 minutes. the game screen will dispeared.and bssndrpt(an exe.)will appear with Garbled. sounds like there is a bug inside? can anyone give me some ideas? thanks~ :D

Make sure your CoH don't have ultra settings in any option.
Also, make sure you have installed:
* DirectX libraries.
* Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 (either x86 or x64, depending of your version of windows)
* Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 (either x86 or x64, depending of your version of windows)

there where you can also change the resolution^^
if you have there your settings have ultra (direct x 10) active its normaly not good :P

My friend said that might be the wrong with the translate if Chinese?
If I have to install the latest EF mod(full),I should delete the old one or I can cover them?

If I understand you right, the Chinese translation might not be 100% accurate. There were also plans for adding either simplified Chinese or traditional (not sure which one is currently in). There should be one Chinese language set in EF at least.
There shouldn't be any problems installing the new full installer over the old files but it's usually a good idea to fully delete the old files just in case.
