Title: Bring out the Browning
Post by: White Dot on September 14, 2011, 03:35:18 AM
One of the most famous mgs of the war and we don't have it. Why can't we diversify by instead of having 2 BARs have one Browning LMG?

He said remove the BAR upgrade which gives this (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/75/Army_Heritage_Museum_B.A.R..jpg) weapon:

And add this (http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110426003307/callofduty/images/6/6a/1919_A6_Side_FH.png) instead of two BARs:

We would never do such thing, we could add a reward unit that uses it at most. LoranKorn made a model of that weapon, unfortunately, I don't think US is going to get a reward unit to make use of it because it already has four. But I agree that will be cool to have one squad with one of those ;D.

No, he wanted to replace 1 of the BARs with M1919 Brownings, not both of them, it would diversify, however its not necessary.

BARs allow soliders to shoot during move. This Browning would have to deploy earlier like lMG42 in Gren squad. So this would change gameplay  really hard. Getting close with rifles with THIS gun would be pointless, as staying in range and shhoting it, because of rifles ineffectivness at long range.

In BotB mod I've seen something similar in an American infantry section.

Blackbishop is right, I meant have either 1 Browning, or 2 BARs. The BARs fire on the move as stated, so the Browning would have that as a weakness in the fact that it cannot, forcing players to choose between added firepower or mobility. An infantry reward unit would be nice for a change instead of the normal vehicles (which sucks for me being an infantry commander. :P)
P.S. Not to be pushy or anything but to do to the US what you did to UK with a reward faction would be pretty sweet. But by all means please focus on ostheer for now. I can wait.  :)

Am I the only one who want the ¨THAT¨ browning for the Americans MG instead of the watercooled one? XD Yeah I know. EF dont change vanilla factions but I read somewhere that COH had files on this one? But by strange reasons in the end it went to the watercooled one?

One of the developers  made a M1919A6 for CoH? Gotta find some way to use that! Turn the tables on the grenadiers with their squad-level MG42s.

Its only a visual change if they even due so. Not to increase Rifleman power :P. That would change balance

Adding the better Pershing model was okay, but this is really pushing it. NO Changes to vanilla factions plx!!! If ppl want other skins they can install a skinpack themselves, and wtf's up with that new sherman skin?? somebody forcing their skins into the mod?

As you noticed, we included the correct version of the sherman 76, but it uses the normal sherman as base model so we had to add both. As it is a different model it has it's own skin, and unless a 2D artist have some free time to make the old skin fit on the new model, it will stay as it. Besides, any further additions of units will be for some different modes, like fortress mode or similar stuff.
