Hello guys, some friends told me about Eastern Front so I decided to give a shot. Unfortunately, cynical me was right again and things didn't go as planned. So,I will go to my issue right away:
I ran the executable and installed the mod to my Company of Heroes folder, which I got over Steam. (That might be my problem)
So,when I run the Launcher,it says "Eastern Front Mod does not appear to be installed on your system. Try re-installing Eastern Front to continue".
After that, when I press Play,it says Unable to Locate Company of Heroes directory. So I went to settings, then manually put my CoH directory which is "D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes" but nada, next time I enter the Settings window,it's still blank and nothing changes. I guess my change wasn't saved.
This might be a very little problem or something small I am missing, but please help me guys,as I would like how it feels to have your stuff work without problems every time. (Q_Q)

Have you checked this post?
http://easternfront.org/forums/index.php?topic=5883.0 (http://easternfront.org/forums/index.php?topic=5883.0) ???
What OS your pc has?
-
I am pretty sure I ran all CoH versions atleast once. I don't get this part through: "Do not pass go or take 200 until you do the above."
-
Neither do I but is the most complete install guide atm :P... btw what OS your pc has?
Probably he meant that don't discard the programs that request to be installed before playing CoH (i.e. do not cancel microsoft redistributalbe 2005 or DX)

Vista

32 or 64 bits?
-
32
-
Use this registry.
-
I did but it didn't change anything. :(
-
It could have failed because of:
1) Your provided directory is not the correct one("D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes"... screenshot of all the files ???).
2) Your OS is not of 32 bits(If you don't have a program files (x86) it is a 32 bits OS, Indeed).
3) The register was not added at all. Admin rights?
4) Unknown bug.
If it's the option 4, I guess you can make a shorcut.

1. D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes is the right one,I just copied it and pasted it here.
2. I have a Program Files (x86) but I know it wasn't there before and it only has one folder,Activision, then inside it, Call Of Duty - World At War folder but it is empty,so there isn't anything there. I am also %90 sure that I don't have a 64 bit OS,since it tells me that high settings are for 64 bit OSs only in World of Tanks.
3. Well,it told me that the register was added, but I could check that if you were to give me instructions.
-
Probably it's number #4. Looks like everything is right.
To make sure you run it with admin rights, right click over the registry->Run as administrator.
Have you tried making a shorcut?
-
I have tried, but when I launch the game it's normal as usual.
-
As I have asked in the second post, could you post a screenshot of your CoH directory showing all your files. Also, could you upload your warnings.log?
If it loads CoH instead of EF you didn't install it correctly.
Btw, I attached a reg file to add the launcher registry on your pc and fix this error:

But that won't fix EF not loading. Do you have CoH installed in two locations?
-
warnings.log?
I think that error might be fixed, since I didn't get it when I launched the launcher, but it told me that it couldn't locate Company of Heroes directory.I manually did it from Settings and when I came back,it was erased.
Oh and,my print screen doesn't work for whatever reason so can't take a screenshot.
-
Here it says how to fix your error("couldn't locate Company of Heroes directory"):

-
Unfortunately,the directory there is correct.

Are you sure you installed EF in the correct path? Did you tried to make a shorcut?
