Company of Heroes: Eastern Front

As the weather insists on being a rainy mess and stopping me from spending summer outside I've spent the last few days making another Eastern Front themed map.
I guess its fairly similar to the last, its a rural snow setting...Eastern Front needs more snow dammit ;D but more wooded and with two smallish trench networks. The map is also divided by a frozen river...nice.
Thanks go to TEXAS for making the snow.aps for newbies like me to use :P

Ohh this map looks cool, But isn't it a little big for 1v1? Look's like you could fit a two verse two map on this.
-
Hey, glad you think it looks good :)
Well its a 256x256 playable area so it would be a pretty small 2v2, and the other map I did was that and theres currently only one 1v1 Eastern Front map.
None of it really feels empty though I dont think.

That map looks reasonable for a 2v2.
How about naming this map after a Finnish battlefield for a little more variety?
-
Hmm, it really doesn't work very well as a 2v2 as the starting areas are pretty small already and to fit the other two starting points in I have to delete bits of the map, mainly the trenches (which I'm rather fond of as they took quite a while to do).
It does work well as a 1v1, and isn't any bigger than some of the stock relic 2 player maps.
As for names, Karelian Isthmus perhaps? Although I'm no expert on the Continuation War etc.
Any Finns here want to give it a play through and find a better name for it? :)

How about posting a minimap so one can help you? :)
I wouldnt put any finnish war locations to the mod without proper equipment if it was up to me, honestly...
-
Well, Canadian and Polish battles are fought in vanilla CoH (represented by the British faction), so I see no real reason why the Finns cannot be represented by the Germans. They deserve at least a reference; after all, it is the Eastern Front mod, and not the Russo-German mod.

Hey, I couldn't upload the image anywhere cos the sites dont seem to like .tga
So just download it from here

Sure but there is very little difference between the british, polish and canadian units during normandy invasion while finns and germans were nothing alike.
I appreciate you want to include finns because they arent represented in video games that often which is just great if you want to have them. But just have them speak very lousy english with german accent and have all out german unit with just made up reskin is... not in the category I'd personally go for.
But thats just my opinion.

Ok, sooo, Finnish? Not Finnish?
Ach you guys decide :P

kurland will do.
-
link is broken :'(,reupload please
-
Updated the map with more realistic splats and terrain. Few other tweaks aswell. Made a permentant link aswell.
Seems theres more people around these days maybe it'll get some downloads.
Let me know what you think :)
-
your map is awesome, top work, just love the snowy environment, thx a lot for sharing :)
-
Great map, reminds me of the kurland kessel map from red orchestra.
This has so much more potential if it were expanded to 2v2 size.
Also on the axis side, the wooden bunker/shack is facing the axis base side , not the river side
-
Glad you guys like it, if you want something similar and two player check out my other map "Rzhev".
Will have a look at that wooden shack and sort it out and a few other things tomorrow probably.
Cheers
