Title: Crash EF Mod
Post by: Kobja65 on February 19, 2012, 04:58:19 PM
Hello,

with 3 friends we are a big fan of COH Tales of Valor and we discovered the EF Mod.
The trick annoying is that it is impossible to play a full part with or against friends before the game crashes and I see the error report Relic. While the game has always operated, it is distressing to see that I have NEVER been able to play networked or multi without a crash and with 5 different computers. I said that TOV is fine, I've already reinstalled the game twenty times and it starts to break me because it has always done that!

Am I the only one?

EF is very stable these days.

Try:
Disabling object scarring in the options
Posting your crash log
Lowering graphics settings
Praying to a deity

I just tested but nothing changes. I also specify that all backups that I made are corrupt, imposible to play again. Crash Report # 1072727 Who told me to erase my backups. Twenty thousandth report sent to Relic and in the report there is nothing said.

thank you anyway

Instead of being blunt perhaps you can follow the correct procedure for filing a bug report.

And if every time I send an error report by following the procedure to the letter but it does not change anything? And every time the connection to the server fails to send the report, I have to manually send, located in a completely different / C / user / AppData indicated by Relic I've ever had on my computer. I found it after all the game files but it does not change anything. I even tried changing RelicDownloader in RelicDownloader.bak but it changes nothing. I was offered after deleting my backups, great and what does it change?
In short, with what you say, it looks like we're the only four on the planet with this problem.
PS: I reinstalled the game plus 2 weeks ago (original game Tales of Valor on DVD) with EF Mod then I did the update 1.6.0.1. (Prior to having made the update to play online TOV.

Have you tried to increase the paging file size?

Don't send the crash log to Relic. Post it here.

Hello, "a crash report containing the files listed below has been created for you."
CoH6OD16DR6.dmp
A5N97OA2.xml
warnigs.log
configuration.lua
warnigs. 2012-02-20. From 10 to 55-49.txt
artmessages. 2012-02-20. From 10 to 55-49.txt
soundmessages.2012-02-20. From 10 to 55-49.txt
localizer. 2012-02-20. From 10 to 55-49.txt
playercfg.lua
physicsmessages. 2012-02-20. From 10 to 55-49.txt
4p_achelous river - save1.cohsav

I do not understand when you ask me to increase the size of the paging file.

Since the update, there is a button "login" at the EF launcher, do we connect with our Relic account?

Thank you for your help.

No, the login is for your EF account. It allows you to chat with other EF players who have logged in.

I thought you have read the post that @Cranial gave you:

I got an "Unable to create report. Please verify there's enough space in your TEMP folder" error message or Eastern Front just freezes and the sound effects loops and I have to restart my PC or just crashes while loading a map

This is a problem you'll likely only find in 32 bit OS.

You can try the following:

  • Close RelicDownloader (as explained in the First Post).
  • Use lower graphics settings.
  • Increase your PC's virtual memory (http://www.delete-computer-history.com/increase-virtual-memory.html).
  • Close all background programs you don't need before playing, eg. Web Browsers, Windows Explorer instances.
  • Download, install & use Game Booster (http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html) before playing EF.
  • You can create a shorcut to run EF instead of EF launcher, some users have claimed this helped to improve their performance. Check this topic for help: How to create an Eastern Front shorcut (http://easternfront.org/forums/index.php?topic=5312.0).

Try to have at least 3GB to 4GB in your pc, remember that Eastern Front uses more resources than Tales of Valor which uses more resources than the previous games(Original Company of Heroes and Opposing Fronts). If the problem persists, you should consider migrating to a 64 bits OS.

I have a Windows 7 64 bit with 12gb RAM, Core i7 2670QM and Nvidia GT630M.
I will still try with the graphics to a minimum.

Then the crash is related to a different problem and my quote is not gonna help... could you upload the crash files to the forum? So we can check them and not just be wild guessing? :)
