I know that the EF team has rebuild the Commonwealth faction in the Royal Marines, and I know that a new iteration of the RM is coming in v1.7. I was wondering if there were any plans to rebuild the PE in a similar fashion. If not, I would like to request such a rebuild after SU, RM, and Ostheer have been released, and balanced. It strikes me as odd, annoying even, how reliant the PE is on light vehicles. They're nice, and it is certainly cool to see so many variants of the SdKfz 250 chassis, but it gets very old. The only effective strategy I have seen with them is to spam attack the enemy. Since a couple of hits will knock one out. all the enemy has to do is build a few AT units and your '250 rush is toast.
For a force that is supposed to represent the mix of 'old men and kids' stationed in Holland, and the SS Panzer division on leave there, the current PE force is totally wrong. A rebuild, even a minor one, would be appreciated.

I dont think the EF team sees anything wrong with the current PE. Therefore they probably wont change anything. I think most balancers felt the Brits were kinda broken; hence the RMC which is currently being balanced. I agree, PE has numerous light vehicles with there only heavy vehicle being the Panther. But even that is hard to get :(. But unfortunatley thats how they roll :P. Combined arms is the way PE fights.
-
Well, I can speak for balancers but what it is true is that they don't like RMC ^^.
In other hand, we are not going to create a reward faction for Panzer Elite. Also, we probably aren't going to add new units in the future for the current factions of EF. The only new additions on EF besides Ostheer are going to be the reworked models for Soviets.

The Limies seem to be causing lots of problems ;D

The faction was forced in by someone with their own self-motives back in the day, despite objections from everyone else. What else can I say?

As someone else once said, I think they were introduced as a defensive alternative but it didn't really work :(

Offensive, but utterly failed. It's in the shop

When you can see through the veil, things are never as simple as people say it is. There was definitely politics and self-interest involved, along with the fact that the person that forced it in had absolutely no clue how to play the game. The result is a fucking ugly child that no one wants to see except for its possessive mother who has no idea how to raise her child. So now what you get is a state of welfare, where our balancers are forced to feed and raise it.

Bahahaha.

Think it better you do not know.

Well they do say ignorance is bliss :P. But I don't feel like being blissful today :P

apperently it was either a dev, donator, or someone else that had a lot of sway over the mod. they had it added contrary to all advice, and now it is resented. but i dont want to know, and i dont care to, so please keep your knoledge to yourself, or PM fish if you do let him know who.
EDIT: i actually think that the idea of reworking the brits is helpful, because they are so easliy exploited in scheldt games and such due to their many emplacements, but when transferred to real life, i dont belive its a plausible idea. however, 1.7 may change my mind.

The panzer elite are my second favorite faction after the vbrits. Don't change a thing.
-
PE is good as it is. They rock.

Beautiful.

The Panzer Elite are only missing two things:
A sniper ability - Could be given to G43 upgunned Pgrens.
Main gun upgrade for the Pz IV stubby, to a proper Pz IV gun capable of engaging tanks.
I see neither coming in this mod.
Apart from the Soviets, they're my favourite faction.

This is the weakness of the PE. If you remove that weakness then the faction in a whole becomes OP because the G43s are avalible to you right off the bat like recon squads, and snipers are a key unit to get against the PE because of small squad sizes.

Well, while it's not so much of a bad idea, I wouldn't call the P4 a solid counter to tanks. It's more of like a sherman in terms of firepower (Referring to Wehrmacht P4), and the PE has plenty of legitimate AT options within the tiers so I don't think it's really too much of a worry. PE also lacks serious AI powers during the late game if you take that P4 away unless you spam MP44s.
They are indeed a fun faction to play!

PE already have a sniper ability, called AT-HT with aimed shots.

Which is quiet expensive but you get a vehicle sniper.

Well, yes, but it's not theoretically T1, cost quite a bit of fuel to tech there, cost fuel to make, is a liability against ATGs and HMGs where the Sniper offers the ability to easily kill that.
I counter sniped 3 soviet snipers of dennis with it yesterday though

I'm fully aware of the AT Halftrack. It's quite amazing with it's treadbreaker as well.
The Marder III suffices for AT duty quite nicely, especially if you have two of them working together spaced properly apart to avoid flanking and clusterfucking once the artillery hits.
The PE have workarounds, they're just more complicated and take more time to get out there.
