I know that it may be basic in how to deal with a flamethrower pio squad, but they seem to always do a number on me as well as american flamethrowers. I know cover increases damage so I try my best to stay out of it and focus in the flamethrowers, but they always just spray me down and like half my squad dies with the rest on ninja health left. Any tips? I know snipers can help but what about if I don't have them?

Well if you are wehr you could use MGs. Or just focus fire them so they die fast. Or throw preemptive grenade. Or vehicles. Or mines IDK im not a expert so I dont really know >_<

I'm talking about playing them as Soviets. Focus firing works and stuff, but sometimes even with focus firing they just eat the infantry up super fast. What happens if you need to engage flamethrowers with Conscripts and Command Squads?

all you could really do is focus fire on the pio and hope he retreats them with 1 man left but yeah trannyhunter's ideas sound more viable.

also, flamethrowers are less effective out in the open or in negative cover, while they will toast any infantry in cover or in buildings

Conscripts get toasted in open ground as well, your best bet is flanking them with the CS while the conscripts get roasted. If the opponent has 2 pio flamers then he doesn't have enough muni for Panzerschreck so you can get a tank hall and get a t-90 to rip his pios apart.

Conscripts just seem very vulnerable to flamers because of their low health per man, but its really not that bad once you look at the numbers. It looks like a lot of them die, but really, its just 16 reenforce per man.

And its even less mp to reinforce them once you get veterancy and start getting Support and tank upgrdes as well :P

Does the EF kampkraft centre require any of the 4 base buildings before its blueprint is de-grayed? IIRC this was implimented in vcoh to stop Piospam, but I haven't played EF in ages (uninstalled to save what little disc space i have, unfortunately) and if it isnt currently in, this might help stop flamespam vs soviets. Though piospam doesn't seem to be very valid against SU, where any command squad bonus would allow even conscripts to tear pios a superfluous new one.
