Hey Gents!
According to this topic at RelicNews (http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?265575-Company-of-Heroes-The-Movie), Sony and UFO Films are working on a movie which adapts the famous Company of Heroes RTS series. It will deal with an important mission "in the heart of [...] Germany".This album on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.382412825120278.105159.151338354894394&type=1) shows pictures of a winter-like environment (in Bulgaria). Putting those things together - Winter, Germany, US Army, WWII - I think it will most likely be about the battle at Hürtgenwald, where US Army fought against Nazi Germany and the Westwall in Winter 44/45.

Well company of heroes is based on DDay and Holland. I think this movie will only have the name of the game in common.
When there will be a movie from german perspektive fighting the americans? (i know there are some but they are very old)

I'd actually love to see voice overs from potential WWII vets from OTHER countries besides the US or the UK...that's how they always have been :P
Hearing the German, Russian, Italian, etc. perspective can be a real eye-opener for players.

Its sad that the movie will be from an American perspective, they make a lot of those nowadays.
Hope they include lines from the game though

The main characters will be against Germans ... but dont understand what they will be - Americans or from another Allied country.
The most of the text is "bla bla" ... another add for our prime minister...
"Сточна Гара" is a rail station in our capital. Is is mostly used for hangar for trains. ( as far as I know)
"София" is our capital.
The most of the scenes will be made mostly at night.
Pictures in Bulgaria will continue around a month

I hate to say this but I think this movie will be a bit biased because its from a US POV *cough*Private Ryan*cough*. I'm sure there will be multiple fun action scenes but as for the story and characters themselves, well, you know :P.

i have to agree that in most cases a war movie based around and american POV usually means that any "based on a true story" left to ones own judgement. Ask any non american soldier and they will tell you the way any war is and the way an american soldier percieves it are two very contradictory things.

You know even if its a world war we cant cover every single perspective. There are after all over 200 countries :P.

and in all fairness regardless of perspective most movies dont draw enough of a crowd if they are based within reality like the way great war movies of the past did. nowadays it needs to be animated or 3D to just break even and doing a war movie this way is really a disservice to the story it is trying to portray.
