Title: Good Ostheer skins for Wehr and PE?
Post by: Ost_Front_Soldat on March 13, 2012, 05:21:35 AM
I am trying to get a skinpack together for Wehr and PE with realistic/historical skin for eastern front combat units. Does anyone know where I can find some?

Try the Company of Heroes Ammo Box.  Halftrack's works have always been my personal favorites, but you might also find some other specific skins you like.

Could you possibly explain where to put these folders once you download them? And the Wehr and PE skins seem to look like a Windows Media File rather than a folder with a bunch of stuff like the US skin pack. Is it supposed to be like that ???

For EF installing skins is very simple. Simply copy/merge the new "Data" folder in your download with the "Data" folder in your "Eastern_Front" folder. However, you might not be able to play EF online with skins installed.

You need WINrar to open them. .rar are like zip files, compressed folders, just open with WINrar and copy or extract to the before mentioned folder.

another alternative is the free 7zip, because i dont think winrar is free, it lets you use it for 40 days and then you have to buy it. it also opens other compressed file formats as well. also if you are going to be downloading skins, you will run into a lot of .rar files

I've used WinRAR since forever and haven't ever paid for it.

For anyone who doesn't want to download these things (I will, can't say about others), the US skins Halftrack provided can simply be inserted into your COH folder and I must say, they make things so much better :D. Looks a lot better than the green uniforms vUS units have :P
