Title: Soviet Infantry armour types
Post by: Major Hochstetter on April 06, 2012, 01:49:00 AM
Sorry if this question has been answered before, but I´m wondering what the armour types and possibly health values of the different soviet infantry units are.
While I do know that guards, for example, use elite amour, I´d be interested to know the values for some other units, especially the naval infantry, strelky and command squad.
If these stats have been posted before, please just direct me to this thread. (I searched for them before but i didn´t find anything)

Now, that' s something I'd like to know as well. When I used navals today they didn't feel all that tough, but certainly not as squishy as, say, riflemen. My experiences with Strelky were quite similar, and I always like to know as much about my units as possible. So if there's anything like a list of unit stats or a program to look at them, it would be cool if someone posted it ^^

Wait if Major Danko has heroic armor why does he die to one sniper round ???.

And snipers have their own armor ???? Whats the benefits

Sniper armour is a little resistant to bolt action or semi-auto weapons. It is very vulnerable to SMGs, bikes, Pumas etc. though. It also means that, while moving, enemy snipers have a 50% chance to miss you.

I'm not sure what the deal is with Danko or the NKVD Commissars. This is just what Corsix gave me.

Thanks for this stats GodlikeDennis! :)

But a few questions I have still.

Sturmovie had their own armour typ.  Is that a better armour than elite?
What are NKVD troops or are they Shtrafnyie Troops?

Sturmovie is based on soldier with a few differences. It is more vulnerable to MP40s and flames, and Snipers can't miss it (like elite).

F*cking Danko.

Having Heroic armour doesn't mean you are resilant to sniper fire, in other hand having Heroic criticals does it.

Just throwing this out there...What is with the crazy numbers for conscripts?

I think the squad had some health number like, eh idk 139 hp per squad and it got divided by 7 :P. Honestly IDK

Yeah cons originally had 37hp I think so someone must've calculated how much health they should have after losing the extra man. I got a different number though when I calculated it.

Comes out to 296.someridiculousdecimalthatssosmallitsinsignificant HP per squad. So I don't even know what the deal is there.

37 / 7 = 5.2857142857142857142857142857143

37 + 5.2857142857142857142857142857143 = 42.2857142857142857142857142857143

42.2857142857142857142857142857143 =/= 42.285999298096

Somebody stuffed up :P

By looking at this and taking into account that NI SVT40s are Garands...NI > Guards.

Also accounting reinforce costs, original costs, and the fact that NI get two flipping epic DP28s.

Nope. Guards are still superior. You must misinterpret something. Guard SVTs > NI SVTs. DP28s are the same, but Guards can fire them on the move unlike Navals. Guards have a better arrangement of grenades and better health (And with that, better DPS Retention)

Re: DP28s I think you really should consider the Shoot-on-the-Scoot version a different type of DP28. The Stats may be the same but moving 4m GD has 1.33 =4/3  more firing power than a moving 4m Gren/MG42. What kind of suppression do DP28s and MG42's have? Is there a reduction in suppression when Shooting on the Scoot?

Major Danko takes the big one before other Squad members with eerie frequency even when snipers are not involved. I realize he is a priority target. I have often deliberately targeted multiple squads on the Major and find other squad members dying. Given his health and armor is this a bug?

Numbers, numbers, numbers: During the 6 versions of the Sov faction there have been so many Buff/Nerfs it is not surprising there are few rational numbers. At sometime during the Ostheer Beta the health/man should be normalized to be in balance with Ostheer. When dealing with 8 ticks/sec - 480 ticks /min you can safely round to the nearest rational number. To make things even easier you can round 480 to 500. The maximum error will be 4%. Close enough for government work.

I needed to ask this question, so here goes

If Guards capture any other LMG, like the MG42, can they fire them on the Move?

Very interesting question...My initial instinct is to reply YES to that question but I don't quite know without checking corsix...and I'm on my phone :(

I don't think they do

I don't think they do

I think running with the LMG is not weapon related which is why I might think yes.

Nah it's weapon related. Guards won't fire on the move with other weapons like the LMG42.

DPs have no suppression, unlike the LMG42.

Ah, I thought it was entity related, sorry about that.

Dennis is correct.
