Title: Sniper Elite V2
Post by: Mass Killer DL on April 14, 2012, 04:51:19 PM
Anyone else planning on getting the new Sniper Elite game?

Downloaded the demo on my Xbox and it does seem like a decent game, though I haven't played the first Sniper Elite apparently that was good to though I wouldn't know.

I would really like to play that game. It seems like it improved a lot since "Sniper Ace 1". Esspecialy in terms of graphics (it seems to use the same engine as Mafia II?).

To be honest I'm not sure what engine it uses, though it probably is the same one used in Mafia II.

The Graphics are pretty darn awesome as well as the game in General being able to follow the bullet of your good shots enter your victim's eye and exit through the back of his head :p.

Could you also shoot Grenades on the first one, Causing the Soldier to meet a grim end?

No only planted TNT. There was one thing I didn't like in Sniper Elite 1 that you had to do a lot of things and kill every enemy in the area. For example you pick up a MG42 a Panzerschrek and then you need to kill a bunch of infantry and destroy tanks with the panzerschrek... fits quiet good for a sniper eh?... Another thing are the sniperrifles, you already have a semi automatic one from the beginning and you'll only get another semi automatic one later which is quiet stupid... I would rather have a bolt action rifle.

Do you get an M1C or M1D Garand? I love those variants, but I rarely ever see them in any games (I believe I saw the M1C once in MoH:European Assault and as an available attachment in CoH5:WaW)

Afraid not I think.

The confirmed Snipers are Springfield M1903, Gewehr 43 and the Mosin-Nagant 1891/30.

That makes me a sad panda, I really love the M1C.

I may get it, just for the love of the original game. And I thought they were adding the Kar98kand SVT-40 or was the something special like an expansion or pre-order promo.

Aye their on the Pre Purchase Bundle. More than likely will be purchased for Microsoft Points on the Xbox to.

I only played Sniper Ghost Warrior a little but it seemed like a decent game, though a few of my mates bought the game and played it but not very long making me think the Multiplayer wasn't anything special?

@mass killer DL, i would agree that GW 1 might not have been the best, but the Gohst Warior 2 is coming out on the new CryEngine engine by crytek, which i personally belive is awsome, so it should be a major improvement.

This is what the Sniper Ace used to be in 1.0.

Probably the concept he was based of Cranial, I mean what kind of self-respecting Sniper Ace wouldn't have 5 or 6 weapons strapped to his ass. Who needs stealth when you have an MG42 and Panzerschreck to destroy any and everything in front of you, and they never suffer from breakage, nor misfires, etc.

I'm being serious though. One man army was like a machine gun, he had a magnetic AT grenade, all kinds of bad ass stuff

I have 2 questions.

1: Is Sniper Elite V1 fun or should I justwait for SEV2? I haven't actually played any of these games

2: Do I have to play SEV1 in order to understand SEV2 ???

Well SE1 costs 1,70€ atm on Steam that's why I decided to try it :P. I don't think that SEv2 will be base on SE1 (and I hope not).

I know there is a wii version of the first game where you get this big sniper rifle to put your wiimote in and aim like a real rifle. Never used it though!

I was 50/50 at one point (even if the game is U.S propaganda  ::))

however, price and a bunch of other smaller factors stopped me... maybe if it goes on a big sale.

I hadn't seen that thread before, but anyway i am going to buy this game, i played the demo and it is so cool. Currently i am play SE 1, an old graphic, but i don't look at graphic, more important things for me are plot and gameplay.

I watched my brother play this a few days ago, it's massive fun, he also has the DLC where you can assassinate Hitler. It's sad going back to another FPS after playing this game because you miss the in depth, slo-mo kill sequences... I wish all FPS games had that shit. Shame I got too much work to do, otherwise I'd probably be playing it right now.

I just completed this game! and i must say it was very fun, i loved the special effects where you see the bullet penetrateing the enmy through the bones and guts (They even made nutshots avaible, where you see the testicles crack) Only downside on the game was that the gameplay sometime got very similar and booring, some more stealth things to do would have made it more interesting. And the game was way to short, i completed it in allmost 1 day lol.
