Title: Locations of combat in Europe
Post by: GodlikeDennis on May 05, 2012, 11:58:54 AM
For a small project I need a list of major and minor combat locations from the European theatre. Exclude any reference to the Battle of Britain, North Africa, Greece and Italy because I'm interested only in the continental area between France and the Soviet Union.

I do not want detailed descriptions of battles. I only want to know any locations where fighting took place and possibly maps if you have them. Please list as many locations as you can, the more the merrier as I aim to have at least 60.

Cherbourg
Rhine River
Ardennes Forest
Dieppe
Paris

A few minor spelling corrections from Otto Halfhand's post, for your benefit:
15. Arnhem
39. Kharkov
41. Prokhorovka
44. Volga River Crossing(The river that flows through/beside Stalingrad is the Volga river)
46. Seelow Heights

I think there are others, but I don't really know what the appropriate spellings of the others are.
