Title: My ridiculous ideas/hypotheses for CoH 2

I was talking about CoH 2 with a friend. I don't know any details about the game, other than it being set in the Eastern Front. So, in the first CoH, we had the US Army and the Wehrmacht. The First expansion gave us the British Army and the Panzer Elite. The second expansion just gave us reward units for each of the factions.

I'm sure Relic wants to 1-up from CoH and make CoH 2 much better. I had a ridiculous, funny, and extremely unrealistic idea go through my head thinking about how CoH 2 was gonna go:

First I thought: Expansions. Definitely. Dawn of War had them, Dawn of War 2 had them, Company of Heroes had them. Vanilla CoH 2 will have the Red Army and the Ostheer for sure, and I'm pretty sure the expansions for CoH 2 will add more factions, and this is where my idea gets ridiculous. There will be at least two expansions; one of them will be in the Pacific Theater and add the Imperial Japanese Army and the United States Marine Corps, and the other one will be in Africa and add the Afrika Corps and the 7th Armored "Desert Rats"

Look at my proposed list:

Red Army, Ostheer
IJA, USMC
Afrika Corps, Desert Rats

I know it looks ridiculous and playing on a snowy map with the British troops wearing shorts and short-sleeves and Japanese ambush troops with jungle foliage on their back, but I look at that list and say, "screw realism; It would be damn funny and awesome to have these factions in the game together!" Obviously, it would be very hard to balance, though.

Another thing is melee combat. I do hope CoH 2 has this. It's just weird when Infantry are at point-blank range and they just fire their rifles and reload beside each other. Bayonets, combat knives, machetes, would be cool switch-to weapons for melee combat, and if the above factions are in, we could have Japanese fanatics with cheap katanas and scottish highland troops with claymores(the sword, not the mines).

As you may have noticed, I don't really care for historical accuracy when it comes to the multiplayer of WW2 games, and you shouldn't, because it's multiplayer and ridiculous amazing shit happens there.(pardon my language)

That would be awesome ! However I think they are going Dawn of war 2 style. So the expansionpacks will give you the old factions but in coh2 instead.
So you will get the Americans and british and Panzer elit i believe. But if we are lucky they do something entire new! :D

And tommie blobs with claymore swords would be pretty neat. Just because its so screw realism <3

Afrika Corp/Desert Rats seems likely, the new Snow system has the potential to turn into a Sand system for desert fighting. It's also a nice contrast from the freezing Eastern Front. Also, I sense that not all Eastern Front maps will be snowy, given the game ends in Berlin. So you may be able to choose your Army colour schemes and uniform from Winter to Summer, or the case of the Afrika Corp/Desert Rats, Desert to Regular.

I don't really know much. All I know is snow effects the speed of your units, and the deeper the snow the slower your units move... could even cause tanks to get stuck, I'm not sure. I assume they could do they same with sand in North Africa, I know at Buq Buq the Italians nearly managed to beat back an attack when British light tanks got stuck in the sand dunes and salt plains.

Yes soft sand would slow things down. like the Ice on Zytomir map. I would like to see dust reduce LOS sort of like is hinted in Ostheer CT ability.
