It is a mini tv-series, but it has the quality of a movie.

saving private ryan was pretty good but made the americans look undefeatble after the landing and some bits were a little unrealistic i guess. Letters from Iwo Jima was great too

SPR was pretty Meh and unrealistic considering it was a very capital intensive movie.

I saw the movie yesterday. Quite good. The opening battle was pretty neat and I got a COH feeling over it. I can say it already.
The battles arent really super realistic. Not in the way that they are like punching holes in tanks with their bare fists but more like - how the hell did he succed with running through the entire field without getting shot? Also pretty historic incorrect, not in equipment way but tactics ( the final battle.)

A 7 out of 10.

Nice T34 tanks by the Germans. They must have booty tanks transported to the Western front, but im not sure about the modifications. These look science fiction.

This USA hero crap all the time is getting boring.

Where the hell is the CoH:EF movie?

Courtesy of Snug for pointing me to the following movie. It is fairly new within the last 10 years and pretty nice detail of Afrikan combat.

However you have to speak the native tongue  :D

Is it even based on the game? I mean, No hauptman Voss or anything you can relate too, only that its WW2 XD What do you think the german super weapon is?
You saw the sky shake or something like that and after that a german with a gasmask soooo... Zombies or nuclear weapons.

And couldnt they just kept the T-34 like they were and say something about they being captured tanks? They get away with that just perfectly in the movie ¨the eagle has landed¨ were they are talking about
captured torpedo boats! ( Great movie btw)

Always seeing the same bullshit makes me tired - "Nazi super weapons" bla-bla. American heroes. Bla-bla. Not that I'm anti-American, but is is simply annoying to see damn WW2 from one perspective only.

Even the German tank looks cheap, like already mentioned like a pimped T-34. Anyways, there's already a much better movie (series) dealing with the Western front which is Band of Brothers. Company of Heroes is actually based on some of its scenes, why create a movie called Company of Heroes if there's already a movie equivalent?

THere should be a band of brothers series centered around German soldiers fighitng evil american ones  :)

Yeah. Thats why the My way was good because it was a new perspective. Never seen the Japanese- Soviet border war of 1939 in a movie before for example!

Cranial!

Then I recommend the older one? XD LA BATTAGLIA DI EL ALAMEIN!

1 hour and 42 minutes and I didnt understand shit what they were saying. But boy was it good! They dont do movies like that any longer ;C

Here is one for you:

Dva Boytsa aka Two Soldiers , Leonid Lukov, 1943.

Actually a better translation for that name would be Two Fighters, Boyets (Боец) is a fighter, warrior, brawler. Soldat (Солдат) is a soldier.

@ Neosdark. I agree that translating Russian is problematical but the Two names given are the Titles of the film hence the underlining. I translate Russian Folksongs into English. It is amazing how close to the meaning you can get and still keep the lyrical and poetic values through.

Katyusha

Date: 1938
Lyrics: M. Isakovsky
Music: M. Blanter
Translation: T.P. Coughlin

Apple trees and pear trees in flower.
Morning mist is rising in the sun.
Young Katyusha goes walking by the river,
On the bank, down where the water runs.

By the river, she sings, a love song,
To her soldier, fighting far away.
To her lover, the one she dearly yearns,
She sends greetngs, writing every day.

Oh, my song, the song of a maiden's true love,
Fly over the river. Into the sunlight go.
Fly to my love, whos fighting for our country,
(Fly to my hero, fighting far from me,)
From his Katyusha, bring him sweet hello.

Let him remember an ordinary, girl,
Sweetly singing, like a morning dove,
To my lover, who preserves our homeland,
So Katyusha will preserve our love.

Apple trees and pear trees in flower.
Morning mist is rising in the sun.
Young Katyusha goes walking by the river,
On the bank, down where the water runs.

I would have sent the Russian Version as well but I changed the spelling phonetically to be able to sing it.

Not bad at all Otto, not bad, all though I will agree it is hard to translate from two near unrelated languages especially ones not sharing alphabets or generally similar roots. I should know quite well too, I have to help my grandmothers with their English and have to translate from Russian to English every time I'm with them. Although my Russian accent isn't horrible, its actually barely noticeable, my Russian still sucks XD
