I'm bored of this map. I hope this will be the war to end all wars :D
I live in Moscow, Russia so that means GMT +4.
http://www.doodle.com/s5vu8z94spsnimqq
-
I'm free on Thursday and Sunday. I can also play after 20.00 on Saturday (GMT +2).
Also, derp, this map again.
-
Guys, seriously, get into the habit of using this Doodle tool. It automatically converts your timezone to make easy visualizing. (At least from what I see)
-
Yes, bored of this map etc "lets forfeit" j\k :P. GMT + 2, lets have it on thursday perhaps?
-
Myself, Killar and Mr.Q will be defending here.....surprise!
Saturday is the day that suits myself and Killar, we won't be available during the week. Given that Mr.Q lives in Vietnam (If I'm not mistaken) 15:00 GMT would be the most suitable time as I believe this is midnight in Vietnam, any later and it would too late for him.
-
I could do sunday 15:00 gmt fo sho, or else I have to stay whole weekend at home for a coh match. Maybe even 12:00 gmt so Mr.Q doesn't have to stay up too late if he has to wake up early next morning?
-
Sunday seems good to me!
-
Guys should use the Doodle tool
-
OR at least something more organized than this :P
-
Looks like gonna be Sunday. Hmm Sunday is worse than Saturday for me actually cause it's a kind of family day for me. Anyway seems ok for now. What about JB, MrQ, Killar? Sing it.
-
I hate this map, but i dont care if saturday or sunday.
-
Then give it to me so we don't have to play again :D
Btw, as a good sportsman I would like to show my courtesy to Western Commander JBConqueror with this;

xD epic!
Under this circumstance we will give you a hard battle

I'm Dead.......
So yeah Sunday then. 12:00 GMT?
-
yes, indeed
-
Right Guys are you ready for this game soon?
-
My internet connection has gone weird, I has to use ultrasurf just to connect to EF forum with IE. Can't connect to CoH or use firefox at all(being force to manual activation).
Sorry about this but I think The Allied must find another replacement. (or give me a few hours, 4 maybe?) :-[
Sorry about that. :-\
-
It would be easier if you fix your internet rather than find a replacement, keep trying.
We'll wait a while anyway, most of us are already online.
-
I've messaged CER10ty and JHiemstra to see if they're available now in case.
-
CER10TY said he will
-
Is it okay if I come at 17:05 - 17:10 or so? I'm going out with my family to eat in roughly one hour (16:20 or so), and I'm not sure if I'll be back at 17:00 (I'm talking about GMT+2 here).
-
In other words you'll be about 10 mins late, yeah that's fine.
-
I have to leave the house in 10 mnts and will be back after 2 hours or smnthng. Fyi.
-
Allright making dinner ;D Also looks like most ppl wont be here til 16:00 gmt so that's 18:00 you gmt+2'ers
I'm in EF lobby now anyways
-
... Urk.
-
You know what - I've had it with this. I'm not waiting any more. I've been waiting all day and it is utterly and completely disrespectful to not show up to an agreement. I will have it no more - The Allies did not show up in time in force, thus they've forfeited.
There, I said it.
Now I'm going to go do everything else I've put off today for you people.
-
... Urk.
Reserve here waiting for you and ashes.

The match was agreed to be two hours ago. I'm going to work out now. Have dinner.

Having to wait about an hour at first set time, then postponing it and having to wait furthermore (about 30 mins) is lame ... (usually the standard for where you decide wether to wait or leave when someone are delayed is about 15 mins) Announcing that the delayed people have arrived after those waiting have called it doesn't help anyone either(Unfortunately). :-\
Hope we'll get a match next week
-
Wasnt my intention to not show up, but I've been staying in the city for longer than expected. :/
-
Fix this shit. NOW. I've had it with this unorganized crap where everyone is ready and then no one is ready.
Doodle will be used by FORCE next round, or the match will not be played. END of discussion.
-
Wasnt my intention to not show up, but I've been staying in the city for longer than expected. :/
Intentions or not - In war, the enemy does wait for you to be ready. The Axis forces attacked at the agreed upon time. Only two allied companies were present, and thus would have been overrun quickly. Same goes for anything in life - Show up late for a job interview, the next guy gets the job.
That goes to all of you.
-

If you can play the game, play it. Don't complain it wasn't exactly on time, if it's 10 minutes late from agreed, 10 hours late from agreed, whatever. If you're all online, then play it man.

Cranial I'll be blunt, Doodle won't make a single difference. Take this week for example, everyone decided on a time. One player couldn't show up due to connection issues. Game = forfeit. Wasn't anything slightly related to game organisation. Get rid of 3v3s and 4v4s, the chances of one player not showing up would be significantly decreased.
I tried to make the game happen, I really did and if the axis were not so picky it would have happened. (2v2s are good enough one week but not good enough the next. Odd, you'd almost get the impression Axis purposely refused a 2v2). Also when we re arranged a time (A time they decided might I add) for the game after finding a reserve they "had none of it", because "The match was agreed to be two hours ago" and he is "Now going to go do everything else he's put off today for you people". Yet he still has the time to come on the EF forum and whine, must have been something he's put off today for you people.
As you probably noticed I'm not happy with Axis sportsmanship, if they actually tried to make the game happen it would have.
Note that its 5 hours after the agreed time and he's still online, so yeah I'm not buying that BS of too busy.

I understand the 3v3s are a struggle, but Doodle allowed our game to be played ASAP with a smooth, no problem area. I get that 1 person can mess the whole thing up, however only a couple people as I read signed up on the schedule.
It really does make a difference, guys.
If the game can be played in a 2v2 format, so be it. Do it.

Could have easily played 2v2, we asked several times but no, not good enough.
I'll give Doodle the benefit of the doubt and try it next time. Still though, please remove at least some of the 3v3s
-
I don't really have another map in the "Paris" theme, but I'll see what I can cook up.
Games in capitals will stay as they are, I'll give an extra week for capital siege and in other cases make sure there are fluid reserves.
Axis, please try to recruit more people in game.
-
Well, why we are being accused I don't understand, you need more recruits then for this particular game- not Axis. We all showed up, spared time and one Ally player didn't- like the last time. We agreed to make the game 2v2 and lost. Even if you presented, we haven't received a Medal of Honor.
We lost territories to missing Axis players but if the same case to Allies, no- Axis has to be sportsman. Sorry but this doesn't sound fair to me.
I don't scare of any 2v2 that you can throw at me, I've played enough to get used to every abusive player in COH pool I guess. It's not about being reluctant, it's about rules that you made.
I didn't cancel the game just had to leave home. If we could wait 4(!) hours for one player, it could be for me.
-
Just out of curiosity, who was supposed to show up to this game?
-
If you don't want to play a 2v2 then it doesn't matter. I don't see bad sportsmanship really on either side really, we just need to get our act together.
-
It's not about wanting. It has to be clear;
If a player/players missing on the certain game time, then this sector;
a- Has to be given to the team who had full or more players present
b- Game has to be played 2v2 or even 1v1.
One of them has to be certain then we will not have more issues. Otherwise situation coming to who is more gentleman.
And it's really diff to set up large games with so many people from so many time zones. Noone has to be blamed in this case. Just we have to make more certain rules.
PS: If you decide that from now on, games have to be played regardless of player amount, I'm ready to play this game 2v2 anytime.
-
Okey first of all the allied commanders are the ones who didn't show up(TWICE). So stop trying to blame the axis commanders for not wanting to make it happen. And as far as 2v2 goes, we said we could do 2v2 with a wehrmacht and panzer elite, but we mutually agreed to wait a couple of hours to try and make 3v3 happen. Screwing around and pointing fingers later on definately doesn't go by as sportsmanship in my book.
Second time around ashes was missing and we were 2 panzer elite, which in our experience and opinion makes for a crappy 2v2. However, even though I see myself being the least capable of the 3 commanders that are originally in the zone, I will stand by for an organized 1v1 if that's what you want.
As far as the doodle tool goes, it doesn't seem to do anything. I signed up for Thursday in doodle and wrote it on the forum. Yet I couldn't see anyone else doing the same thing(in doodle). Also people didn't answer the forum posts in ages, just like last time I was sent to battle with more or less the same crew. So making it happen any faster/smoother doesn't seem likely either way.
However, 3-4 Days before sunday we all agreed to meet 12:00 GMT on sunday. (Which by the way wasn't listed as an option in doodle). The allied commanders still failed to show up two times in a row. All the commanders had agreed to a given time 2-3 days on forehand last week aswell and failed to show up 2 days in a row. Even so we still managed to make it into a 2v2 with 2 panzer elite vs a brit and an american (last week).
I'm not sure whom of the allied commanders were abscent, but I think it was Mriousq (same as last week), and the same as the allies found a replacement for 2 weeks ago in 2 out of 3 matches. If I remember correctly.
And then to have the nerve to blabber about axis trying to cheat their way to an easy win. When all along (if anyone) it would seem the allies are the ones doing that exact thing.
So to sum it all up; the way JB has posted deceivingly and competitively(both in the forum and in-game) I have sensed disrespect and narrow mindedness that would make me go as far as to say that we are currently at the state of unfriends. -_-

What the hell? I ALWAYS the one who is on time! I ALWAYS show up 1 hour before the match start. You should check stuff again before wrote that, in last week, the one didn't shwo up first is Riggs then it's Killar, I was there BOTH the time (through midnight in my country, only JB is the one who's nice enough to notice that). I also was there the week before too (when we got raped by the Axis). This week I was online 1 hour before the match as always but somehow my internet connection was force through a proxy server that didn't show up in my computer at all that I have to use Ultrasurf just to barely got it back. Seriously, "Why's always me?" (Balotelli qoute).
About the other complains too, in those engagements 2 weeks ago, the lagging was clearly didn't cause by me in the 1st match, because I didn't change my settings for the next 2 matches, but everything went fine after that. About the waiting, both time the Allied had to wait more than 1 hour! In the 1st engagement, the allied had to wait 1 hour, next time, they had to wait 3 LONG HOURS and we didn't whine a word about that too. I don't want to say much but after saw how you guys bend the truth I have to say. No hard feelings.

Easy mate, nobody is blaming you. Everyone knows how its diff to get things together for large games, we need a certain rule that's all. Sportsmanship cost us rounds actually. No more Mr. nice guy. This is the song we sing now that's all. You are good.

Sorry, you are cool dude, just got angry and wrote in accordance to what JB wrote. And don't remember everything that happened. ::)
-
the one didn't shwo up first is Riggs then it's Killar,
Easy mate, i didnt say at all i can make it at the time and date you guys decided to play. Today time was announced 3 days before and i was there even when the game was postponed. IMO axis get the win, because allies couldn“t get a game together.
-
@Killar: from what I knew, you had to move stuffs to new apartment, Riggs got a concert, etc... I'm totally cool with that, just want to make other things clear though.
The nightmare will begin again next turn... I'm sick of that map already :P

Well actually when the game would happen 3rd time, me, Isbjornen and Hietler was on, Killar and JB as allies, one was missing so we accepted to go 2v2 and I left. So we were present 2 times actually but anyway, this is not the point.
-

Hold on, twice? Your team didn't show up the second time ::), so I don't know how its twice. Infact I don't know you Heitler are getting this confused, you were the only one there the second time.
Deceiving? I laughed at that. Who am I deceiving? Competitive? I was the one trying to make the game happen, if anything the axis are more competitive for settling with a default win. I have not won a single game through forfeit since the start, a fact I intend to maintain. If that's what you find fun though, no problem :). I just prefer to play the game ;).
Yeah I lost alot of respect for Isjbornen when rather than play a 2v2 and get it over with he pushed for a 3v3 without enough players to get a default win. That's something I wouldn't really commend. I would have let it go but he had to come on the forum and whine about the allies and try to come off as the bigger guy. I was also pissed off last week when he started whining about loosing the 2v2 on rails (Blaming the map, missing allies) but I convinced myself to drop it, not twice though :(. I've nothing against you Heitler or Ashes, although he already knows that, so I don't know why you're pissed off with me. I assume its because Isjbornen is your friend, fair enough.
We can still be friends, just a secret friendship, we can't tell isjbornen :-X, he won't approve of me, well he won't when he sees what we've been saying. I'll PM the relationship details to you later.
Annnyyywayyyy... Ashes have a nice holiday, I also agree with your idea. There should be a rule where the game must be minimized if there are not enough players present. Cranial you could always just change the name of the Paris sector to overcome the theme problem. Mr.Q, thanks for your loyalty.
We should really lock this thread. I'll be back in a week
-
Wow. I didn't want to return from my Sunday meal in this stage :-X
Ok. This is getting too heated.
Remember Rule #1.
Ok gang. So I was supposed to add rules from last week, but I was taking a small vacation with my family at the "Headquarters" if you may call it. I apologize for not specifying more rules earlier in the week but I will do so in the next day.
Lets be cool guys. I understand that this battle has been a back and forth throughout the entire tourney essentially but keep it simple. There's no need to be finger pointing at who's responsible for a missing match or who's causing crashes. It's ok guys, let's keep it together and be cool.
The rules will be amended to fix things like this as soon as possible.
Now then. Lets keep it sportsmanship-like and continue this thing. You don't have to be lovey-dovey with your opponent but at least try to get along and play some games. This tournament was created to give you guys a chance to not only have a shot at seeing an early ostheer access badge but also to see some games be formed and create some synergy between the community.
With this in mind, lets try to drop our attitudes and play some nice games together. I'm going to amend the rules within the next 24 hours as I said before.
This territory will be ceded to the Axis, however, territorial control will be made absolutely crystal clear with the new rules that are formed.
