Okay so I the IS-2 has extreme raw fire power and very thick armor but this is the bad thing about it. The LOS of this thing is so crappy that my IS-2 gets shot by a Marder III 5 times before I can even see the tank. The range of the cannon is not that impressive. (Not tested this fully but the range is the same as a Panther but I'm okay with it) The penetration of this tank is not impressive either (Okay 1 vs 1 with a tiger and it bounced of maybe 60% of the shells. It won with 15% health due to its large HP, armor and damage) And is inaccurate (I miss 15% of the shots even though its steady.) And for a breakthrough tank it has hilarious damage agaisnt inf. (Should it have the shells of a howitzer?) My verdict is its very non cost efficent. Seriously I'll just settle for KV-85s and ISU-152s rather than make 2-3 of these things. Maybe improve it on one of the fields I mentioned, reduce cost or add global upgrades and individual upgrades to compensate for these things. (For example, improve optics for 75 munis, or upgun it with the more advance version of its main gun, etc.) Thank you for reading this and I hope this dosent sound like ranting.

Pls provide a replay which shows how your IS2 underperforms. Sounds to me more like a learn to play issue.
-
You're complaining when you say your IS-2 beat a Tiger?!
-
in the end we are talking about an non doctrinal tank which "can" beat an doctrinal late game tank
i dont think we have an issue with the is2 :D

I get the feeling like this fella is a comp stomper

Hmmmmm I'm oviously a compstomper because no1 really plays online. 160 fuel for an IS-2 that has 2 for anti infantry and misses alot is not really good....
-
IS-2s are not 160 fuel. IS-2 is 135 fuel (unless you have an old patch or something). Which is comparable to a Panther which only cost 110 fuel. IS-2s aren't meant to kill infantry. They are meant to counter German heavy armor.
IMO IS-2 has okay range and can slug it out with a Panther or Marder and win. It just depends on how you use it.

You base your balance concerns on your compstomp experience. Sry, but these data are not sufficient enough. If you don´t provide a replay, so we can further look into it, i suggest to close this thread.
People, if you don´t find someone to play, arrange games here in forums, go to the EF life chat in your launcher and ask there.

Do not be fooled by those stats, and in fact a value of 2 is quite low to be considered as a good AI tank.
Also, IS2 was never intended to be used as an AI tank so, it is normal that is not good vs that type of units.

Okay so I just did PVP with my friend and my bad its 135 fuel and I find it good already. (Except for the part that it keeps missing, maybe bad luck for my part)

It's inaccurate while moving, if this helps.

Ahhhh....I almost lost my IS-2 to a panther while attempting to kite it. Okay now I get it. But can we boost LOS? Its very crappy.
-
All Soviet tanks have poor LOS. Use combined arms to spot for you.
Heavy tanks have extremely poor moving accuracy. Also, the IS-2 does have quite poor accuracy but this is boosted at vet1. Accuracy doesn't matter much for the IS-2 because it is designed to park right up close to enemy tanks and have a slugfest. If he's kiting you, don't fall into the trap. Stay back and bring up some ZiSs.
Heavy tanks will never be as cost efficient as medium tanks. However, with some micro you can keep them alive much easier so in the end they are really difficult to kill off. They retreat and repair when on low health so often. This means they don't need to be replaced as much as medium tanks, which provide great bang-for-buck if you use them well. Try using the T-34/85 if you want cost efficiency. It's the best tank in the game for that.

Yeah a slugfest. I did kill 2 panthers beacause of that ;D
