PLEASE NOTE: Not talking about research/production, I'm talking about the art (Model & Texture).
I had searched but I didn't see anything about the Ostheer's HQ, instead of having it a "Manor" like the other two German factions, why not make it similar to a Bunker? Like a half buried bunker with barbed wire and a flag pole protruding out the center of the bunker. I mean most of their buildings are made of concrete, plus it would make the faction that more unique.
As I stated this is only a suggestion, I'd rather see more unique things for the Soviets' buildings than Ostheer at the moment.

Hello coffinbag, welcome to the community! I think your idea has merit. It would be much nicer to not have a half-timbered T0 HQ building all the time. I wonder if this is a standardized building for all maps? After all the game doesn't know when you pick the teams what factions will be used. Hmm! Perhaps the Modelers haven't thought about this because maps load differently from the program that loads the Field HQ.
It would be good to have more eastern architectural touches all the way around in EF. I know the Mappers are working on this to some degree. I have seen a log cabin or two in some of the videos. ;) I would like to see some more three story buildings as well.
There is another aspect of architectural design in EF I would like to see addressed. Some maps have no or very few occupy-able buildings at all. This is a little strange because many vCoH factions require occupy-able buildings to create Field HQs.

I really like this idea!
In terms of mapping, the style of the HQ is determined by the number assigned to it on worldbuilder. Every HQ is the same shape, with a different style (rural, industrial, urban or Holland), and then the exterior scenery such as flagpoles, sandbags and wooden walkways are added in separately. You may notice that regardless of playing US or Wehr, the sandbag layouts will be exactly the same, however the Soviet Union HQ's have no defenses (last I checked anyways).
Brits are the exception to the rule, and used to have a separate flag called "Commonwealth starting position", which replaced the HQ building and spawned the Truck on that spot instead, however this is outdated and is no longer required. The truck will sit where the HQ building is supposed to be.
So, if anybody understands how, I can't see why a new model for the HQ building can't be made (similar to the differences in skin between the rural and Holland HQ's, for example), or have a spawning flag similar to the Commonwealth flag.

I really love the idea of a new Hq look since the farmhouses seem so dull. But if you checked the Ostheer sneak peaks thread it already shows the Ostheer Hq as a farmhouse though.

@ 132: I wouldn't let present HQ building be a guide here. I don't know if anyone has plans to change the HQ structure. MonolithicBacon is a very good Mapper and very fast designer too. ;) Who knows what we may see.

I proposed this to Walki a few months back since the Famo was supposed to be built out of the HQ and it looked weird having a halftrack appear from nowhere out of a house :P Currently though we don't really know where the Famo is going to go, but a new unique HQ model is still on my mind so, if I find the time...
