not sure what this patch changed, but it seemed to have broke all AIs in all maps after about 2 minutes of gameplay. here is my log:

Please Eastern Front Developers fix this please, since i cannot find players in this game often i mostly play against bots & with bots and this game is not playable atm with bots cause like he says the AI crashes and the game pauses so please, i love your mod but its unplayable atm cause of this :(

I palyed few games and dont have any problems with AI ... maybe SU is weaker than others, but no bugs or something that will end my game.

Well after the last update i cant play any game with AI cause the game pauses and AI Error pops up. I never had any problem with the game untill the latest patch :(

You should check if your scarlog for the aforementioned game have the same stuff than the ones posted by @fuc847.
And I have played myself vs AI and it works fine. Are you playing with the combiner mod? (or maybe any other unsupported add-on?)

Check on "Documents\my games\company of heroes\LogFiles" for the aforementioned files, every file has written the date of creation as part of their name, so you can track the event.

This isn't marked as a fatal scar error but something in it could cause something like that.

Mine too. Keep getting the exact same problem about 2 minutes in. AI Error. Game keeps playing but computer player stops moving or doing anything else. Reinstalled patch 1.7.1 to revert to game prior to last patch (1.7.2), but stilkl get same error. I would hate to uninstall everything and start over. Hopefully there will be a fix or worksround very soon. Dead in the water.

It seems it is the same error indeed, could you check what says the ailog from that specific datetime?
If someone has saved the replay of the faulty match, would be helpful as well.

In the same folder you got the scarlog(Documents\my games\company of heroes\LogFiles).

If you haven't saved it and already played a match that went fine, nowhere. If you saved it or haven't played a match since you got the error you can find it on "Documents\my games\company of heroes\Playback". The replay of the last match is always saved by default with the name of temp.rec.

If we cannot recreate the situation, I don't think we can fix the issue. Not that easily.

The replay should suffice. And a screenshot won't suffice, because it is not something you can fix with it.
You can save it when you reach the stats page on the aftermath.

I keep getting the same errors as Saprize when fighting against Soviet AI. This time on Grodno but it happens on pretty much every map.

Happened to me again, this time on Hochwald. I added the replay.

Guys playing as or versus Soviets (compstomp) on any map is impossible, it just keeps giving an AI freeze error. Played with msnowflake today on Kalach (see his post in this topic with details). Please, please fix this quickly.

Same here, stopped playing against soviets now, only play against Brittish & Americans. Kinds feels pointless since i am playing a mod thats supose to be about Soviet & Axis

I have the fatal error also, this is when Russia is involved in the game as Ally or Enemy.
You get the fatal error message in the screen after 2 minutes and after that the Russians are just friezed in the game.
I notice that when you get the fatal error and the game stops that you can use the Pause button on your keyboard to continue the game. ;)
I hope this info can help a little bit for the developers.

Same issue with the Eastern Front mod. The fatal AI error when playing against the Russian faction within the beginning stages of the game.
Out of 3 players in the multiplayer game, all have had the AI error once each in three consecutive games. While the other 2 are notified waiting for "[playername] # seconds", the effected player is notified in the bottom of the screen "Fatal AI error".
We have recently reinstalled the version 1.7.0.1 and played Eastern Front 5-6 times online without the fatal AI error occurring. To confirm if it was the version 1.7.2.0, we downloaded the updates to from 1.7.0.1 to 1.7.2.0 via Launcher. Then we were able to play one game successfully in the map "Drekplaats" and completed the game without errors. Then the next two times we played the error came back again in the map "EF Leningrad" and "Steel Pact". Each time we played the Fatal AI error reoccurred.
As mentioned already this appears to be consistent with the Russian faction as the AI.
I notice that when you get the fatal error and the game stops that you can use the Pause button on your keyboard to continue the game. ;)
I hope this info can help a little bit for the developers.
This appears to be similar to using "menu" then "resume" When playing single player against or with a Russian faction. From my experience, the game continues to play again, but for the remainder of the game with this in mind, the Russian faction's AI appears to stop functioning and there are no active unit movements. Although still attacking when enemy units are in range.
I am providing a scarlog and the replay of the last game played with the Fatal AI error. I hope this information is useful in narrowing down the source of the issue.

I *just* update to 1.7.2 and I am having the same crash - It only happens with Russians (tested with them as AI, so I am assuming 'as player' is effected too). The crash occurs about 1-2min into gameplay. Not having detailed reports or anything, I'm just guessing when I say that I think it the deployment of the SU's first builder infantry that "triggers" the crash...
I can play any other factions via the EF mod launcher (tested as brits, with US allies and 2 wher enemies).

Unfortunately the games with the Fatal AI Error were too early on to recognize the Russian faction's doctrine. If there was another way to somehow figure this out by other means rather than looking for doctrine abilities and units in-game, I would be happy to provide further information regarding the chosen doctrines by the Russian faction.

This may be a clue. In the game that was successful set in "Drekplaats", the Russian faction did not once initiate off map artillery nor did they use the air strike, which may suggest that they AI Russians did not choose those doctrines. Perhaps this narrows it down to either of the those doctrines which use artillery, the air strike, or perhaps both. Maybe we are on to something here.

In the mean time you can download the Eastern Front mod 1.7.0.0 and patch it up until 1.7.1.0.
1.7.1.0. is the version before 1.7.2.0, and does not have the fatal AI error. This should be a short solution until the Eastern Front Mod Team finds a fix for the issue.

The only problem with that is there is no one hosting games online (atleast for me)

Believe me or not-
I just played [EF] Psel (2) for 27minutes and lost (but thats something different)
I used the parameters shown and have the theory, that there musnt be a soviet player in the field above... Or "comp player #2" shouldnt start at its default position..
This should work on all 2 player maps at least(?!)
However..
Im not an official here just a normal user giving its 2ct...
think they are spent by now

Since we talk about AI much here i gotta ask devs another question. I was playing 4vs4 7 bots and me in The Hochwald Gap and my whole team in Wehrmacht was on expert and we started on the top and the rest of the other team was 2 hard and 2 expert level, so 10 minutes into the game my whole team of ai:s are completely useless cause then 10 minutes into the game the american AI has captured the whole map and has us blocked of at our 2 bridges.
Then i got to ask, did you guys make the american AI smarter on that map or it is because the AI follows what the player does? Cause i can admit, im not a 100% offensive player all the time but i tried in the beginning of the game to build some defensives lines but i got overun by 4 american players that had tons of allied soldiers and my team was trying to get past the small bridges with their soldiers getting stuck into each other, and no this is not 100% reason why they captured the whole map, the other bridge in our top side was open completely the AI in my team could have easily went that way but they all went to the small bridge. And when they got through the bridges and into the middle they never captured anything they just went forward to the american bases?!!
I mean, by looking at this you could really tell their AI's was really different developed?
So is this now just bunch of bullshit or why did the ai in my team made the game so it lost cause i cant kill 4 american teams by myself?

I deal with noob AI teammates all the time regardless of difficulty they are. Play on some differant maps that aren't bridge dependent then the AI would be balanced. Scheldt, Achelous River, Hochwald Gap, are just a few maps that AI is crap on.
