Title: Application for Music.

Name: Gareth Coker

Age: 24

What can I contribute to Eastern Front?

An orchestral (or non-orchestral) original soundtrack, tailored to the needs of the developers. As this is a game which centres around the Soviet Union, I'd be looking to create a patriotic, yet powerful soundtrack to match the Russian theme, and additionally the war environment that the game will be played in. I noticed that a music composer was not - as yet - listed on your 'Team' page - hence my reason for applying.

How active will I be?

I currently work on movie trailers, and have two indie game projects in various stages of development. However, such is the nature of freelance work (most composers are freelance) that there is enough time to balance multiple projects. I certainly would be available every day for communication and for discussion/criticism on my work.

Previous Work / Examples

An extensive portfolio / body of work can be viewed at my website -- www.gareth-coker.net

The most appropriate track for you to listen to would be 'Brothers In Arms' - the 6th track in the playlist.

There is a mixture of all kinds of music there, some classical, some electronic. Some featuring live orchestra, some featuring computer-based orchestra.

Other Notes

I have been playing video games since I was 5 years old, when I wrote code into the ZX Spectrum myself to write games like Space Invaders. Those were the days when graphics were written in binary code! I am a heavy video game player so I feel I understand the medium very well compared with a lot of other classically trained composers. My favourite score of recent years is Garry Schyman's score for Bioshock.

I hope that's enough information for you to decide if I'm worth using or not.

Thanks for taking the time to read my application.

Impressive indeed, I really liked the brothers in arms score and it would be nice if we can actually implement in game music. :P

Amazing work man. Simply amazing.

I'm guessing the trailers for Light Spire used your music. All goes very nicely with the action.

Bloody fantastic, you'd make a welcome addition. I can't wait to hear what kind of heavenly Patriotic compositions you'll unleash upon us.

Alright, you are in. Welcome to the dev team.

I think it would be best if you just read through the dev forums and get up to speed on the development. I will then introduce you to the mod and give you you own music subforum where we can discuss on what to do.

Enjoy!

I think mod need to have some music like remixes of:
The Soviet March (C&C Red Alert 3) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDQ7hXMLxGc)
The Sacred War (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK2T2aPooy4)
White Army, Black Baron (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tntA_4IoxbE&feature=related)/The Red Army Is The Strongest (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWIZ1XA8f2s&feature=related)
and etc.

Not so sure, those tracks don't sound like they would fit into Company of Heroes.
