People only voice their opinions (both negative and positive) when they care about something. Hearing negative feedback is just as good as positive feedback as it shows a large number of people care what happens to this mod

yes - the whiners should get booted from here - but all in all - most posts have been IMHO - fruitful

in summary - GREAT MOD !

when AI mortar (and even Nebs) fire - there is no red dots in the fog of war
(like it does in the COH) - really hard to find the enemy

also= in CoH - if you use mortar barrage - you are likley to get counter mortared
- but in EF - even if NOT use barrage, the AI still
(in 4 diff games - wrecked train - me = USA vs Wermacht on Normal)
 the AI mortar crew kills all 3 of my crew in one shot - no time to retreat -
this is IMHO a little toooooo deadly? (if not a bug)

shadow OFF (even low DOUBLES process work)
also AA off
and effects to low
refelctions to low (*just as good as high)

try to knock down some settings
(AA, shadows, effects, etc)
it will make a HUGE increase in FPS

i have like a 20 inch monitor so I can't put the RES down really
well - yes you can - and unless you are looking hard - it will just look  like super AA was turned on
(ie little soft/blurry)
also - I run fast except on extra large maps
and shadows are also a performance KILLER
run some tests with different settings- I use xfire which
give me in-game fps

if you can keep over 30 fps in single player small map
it should stay over 20 in large multi player maps
(you will not lag anyone else till you fit around 10 fps)
this is not a 1st person shooter - so you do not need 6o fps

saw the TEAM list
but was curious - how many man hours were spent making the mod?
is there a breakout - eg
art work
maps
AI
unit development
upgrade development
testing (pre-beta)
beta testing
etc

as I said - just curious - you did GREAT - would have been worth buying ! - and it was FREE !

we have about 15-20 playing the mod pretty regular
I have about 100 games (all AI skirms)
1/3 single player - no crash
1/3 2 player -  no crash
30% of the 3v3 or 4v4 games have at least 1 player crash
(never the same guy)
we all have high end machines

Thanks for the compliments on the AI.  And it is completely redone, including tactics.

Also, the idea is to make it more challenging - and an "artificial intelligence", given the game engine, can only go so far.  I look at it more as "leveling the playing field" :)

the more I play (with same pal) the AI - the more 'fun' we have
BUT - there DOES seem to be some issues
(not really 'tested/confirmed' - but we both have the same sense)
1. harder to make the AI 'retreat'?
ie used to rush snipers and mortor teams with jeeps or PE half tracks (even filled up) and rather than an immediate retreat - they sort of 'stand there ground and try to fight it out with you)
or
sniper will just walk away into shadows when chased out of a bldg vs retreat??
2. more than once - had AI armor have the 'out of control' tag - then slide a way a bit - then STILL get of a shot and maybe even a kill ! - or just sit there and engineers run up and repair
3. some troops (not Russia) will not suppress - even when charging a MG in cover or a bunker - and this is not when 'charged up' etc
4. seems as though enemy mortor destroy bunkers faster  - more accurate ? or more damage? (just as sense - no real data testing)

the aforementioned are NOT complaints - just observations to share - the new AI is way more fun !!!

well - I see plenty of praise - and if not enough - let me add mine! sure - could always be better - but the patch showed that the Devs AR Listening! -
one curious thing though - who/what was their beta testers skill level?  ::) it was OBVIOUS that the Engineer spawn time was was too short - how was that missed in Beta testing ?? ?? ?? NOTHING could cap 3/4 of the map as fast as they could!

but - again - this is a PRAISE post  :-*

finally won 3 in a row - vs Normal
me as Brit - pal as Russia - vs 2 Normal Wermacht
2 x on Road to Montherm and once on Vire River Valley ?

the game was easier the 2nd time - by going less offensive
ie
unlike - the old AI when you pressed the AI hard
from every direction - we pushed a little slower - and stayed next to each other - to give mutual support when needed - which is often !
