The OH speciality is overcomplicated teching ^^

This is closer a bit to what I'm looking for. Not walkthroughs for OH. I'm asking for their definition as a faction. Like what sets them apart (other than the fuel heavy teching T_T)

OH: (The get either assault or support whatever floats your boat guide)

1. Get another sturmpio. Get these guys the flamer
2. Use the two sturmpios given to get T1.
3. Cap with all three sturmpios while T1 builds the ff.
3. 2 Landsers, a Sniper and wait a bit to get the sarge upgrade. Get MP40 for Landsers.
3.5 Medic hut.
4. Save up for T3 get fusiliers. A pzIII/marder afterwards.
5. squad up armor with infantry. pzIII with flamer eats allied soldiers at this stage since they won't have proper ATs YET.
6. If you're using elite tree. Get Jagers with MKBs.
7. Save up for T4. Get Tiger.
8. Own.

Might work for you :)

Thanks, but I'm not asking for a tutorial. I'm curious as to what is the Unique Characteristic of the Ostheer. Like what is their specialization.

Brits are great on defenses, PE focuses on rapid attacks, US focuses on expendability and multiple roles. The Wehr have their hard-counters and specialized units, The Soviets have strength in numbers. So I'm asking, what's the Ostheer's characteristic?

Hope this sheds light on my query :) OH is fun :3 and Jagers with the MKB is pure ownage.

Not that I'm a newb. But it just got me curious. How exactly does the Ostheer counter the Soviets? I mean with the countering is clear with other factions. (expendability and jack of all trades US vs specialized yet expensive Wehr) How does the Ostheer counter the Soviet strength in numbers and armored warfare?

I was waiting for a thread like this. The Ostheer seems a bit complicated compared to PE or Wehr but maybe it's just me using it for the first time.

Hello ChernoAlpha,

I'm not sure if you are playing the latest version, because you don't need Assault or Support Pools to get any Sturmpio upgrade, also Scout vet works fine for Landsers.

I think the Partisan thingy was reported a while ago, fixed and released. The PPD43 icon was fixed long time ago as well and I played PE yesterday using the Nashorn and it didn't have problems.

I think you are playing an old version.

I check my updates now and I'm running the latest version (2.30) Will try PE again.

EDIT: Silly me, The Nashorn DOES need to lock down before firing. However, the attack icons seem to be misplaced since it shows up when not locked down. Thus creating the confusion/the idea that it can fire when not locked down.


Also idk if it has been reported yet, but the OH Jagers with the MKB have the burst-fire/single shot mode like the Marksman. Is it usable? Or probably misplaced?

Here's some bugs I found:

  • Ostheer: the game crashes when installing scout veterancy on Landsers.
  • Ostheer: After selecting either Assault or Support branches the option for F42 and Combat Training still exists in Sturmpioneers. Thus you can get Assault and then get the Combat Training and vice versa.
  • Soviets: Partisan units fire at enemies even when they are issued a hold fire order. Thus breaking camo.
  • Soviets: Upgrading to Shtrafniye Troops doesn't add the proper PPD43 icon sometimes.
  • Panzer Elite: THE NASHORN DOESN'T FIRE. Attack orders do show when the tank is NOT locked down but it doesn't fire. However the instructions say that the gun has to be sited before firing. Upon Siting the Gun. The Flak36 sound plays but NO shell animation and NO damage is caused to it's selected target. Also upon siting main gun, it loses the ability to have orders like Attack Ground and Halt. How does the Nashorn work anyways? Because from my evaluation it works like a Marder III that when sited allows for more firepower but it could still fire on the move.

That's not what this topic is for. This is to improve descriptions and icons not to create new abilities ;).

Thanks for the tip, will move to appropriate thread. Going back on topic, a captured OH Leig shows up the text "BLANK" and description "BLANK" when going for bombardment mode.

Not sure if this the right thread. But the Brits should have the "Dismantle" button visible for their dismantle-able defenses like the HMG and Mortar. Not some magical delete button keyboard shortcut. Just sayin.

Red Army Suggestions / Command Squad "Maintain Command Range"

Sooo, since the Command Squad seems like a Brit Lieutenant/Captain for all intents and purposes (Except of course the CS has PPS and a couple of other guys) It would seem sensible if there is a "Maintain Command Range" button for the Command Squad so that the CS could stick with a selected squad while the buff remains an aura. much like a Brit officer.

Update: I finally nailed that reinforcing thing and using it like hell and oh! I'm getting the hand of Propaganda. And how invaluable two SU-76s could do and a bunch of Katyushas.

The outpost is garrisonable alright. Also, it can't reinforce troops until it's been upgraded.

WWWWWWAAAAAAAIT. What do you mean by "upgraded"? Kind of like how the other factions have "Reinforce Point"?
