General Discussion / Re: Ppl even playing EF?
« on: October 20, 2011, 07:43:00 PM »
I am almost always on EF. If you see me on there (FLgator) friend me. We usually have a few good games a night. Some regulars are Killar, Apeman, Glimmerman, Luiernst, Yhcrana, Hwangmihee, Vonklaus, and any name with the sublime prefix. Friending these people will increase your chances of having 1-3 EF games a night. However, if you are new, it is important not to play the sublimes right off. Sometimes JBconquerer and Zackmenka are there, but I haven't seen them in a while.
The above poster is correct in that you must have patience. Usually if you are willing to wait for 5-10 minutes you can get a pretty good game.

That was pretty cool. The cali's were awesome. Somehow the guy with the panthers need to get in there and kill those cali's. If you let cali's rain rockets all day, it's over.

What is a nade squad??

Oh I imagine that means Grenades. When throwing those assault grenades, do they do any damage to stuff in buildings? They are pretty great at stunning things on the ground. Are assault grenades useful for anything except stunning infantry?

They do seem a lot tougher at vet 2. I didn't know their accuracy was so bad on the move. Does anyone know what bonus they get at vet 2?

Yeah MP-40s, my bad. It seems like when the russians are crawling around they are still pretty effective. I would imagine that their fire rate decreases as they crawl though.

General Discussion / Volks MP-44s

Often times i will get lucky and a large group of russians will run close by one of my mgs. While they are all being fired upon, and crawling on the ground, i will usually try and run my volks w/ MP-44 upgrades right in the middle of the crawling blob. For some reason or another, this doesn't work to well. Usually the blob kills my volks. My question is, what is the best way to use MP-44 volks. Should you keep them a few centimeters from the blob and fire, or is the correct method to run them right into the blob? Also, I know it is probably listed, but could you give me a quick synopsis of what the volks gain through veterancy.
Volks are probably my favorite unit in the game, I build tons of them, so I want to figure out how to use them most effectively. Any advice or strategy would be helpful.

General Discussion / Re: Hull Down Tanks

Since you asked Paladin, lol.

Can you Hull down in water? Can you hull down on anything that isn't raised? Or are there restrictions on what you can hull down on?
Once hulled down, does the range of the weapon increase?

I didn't read this whole thread, it may have been answered. Does Hull Down give the tank and increased rate of fire as well?

Haha, yes, we play a lot of VP games as well. Some people refuse to play VP games though.

General Discussion / Hull Down Tanks
« on: August 12, 2011, 08:18:31 PM »
Last night, Von Klaus, Paladin, and myself went against 2 brits and a russian on the refinery. We controlled most of the map and routinely destroyed the russian base. However, the Brit bases seemed to be almost impossible to overtake. Everytime we'd rush them with our panthers and PIV's their Hull Down tanks would take us out.  It took us about an hour to finally win. So my question is.....
What is the best way to destroy hull down tanks? We repeatedly hit them with firestorms. V1s worked a little better but didn't work all that great. Our tanks seemed almost useless against them.  How much of an armor increase/rate of fire bonus does a hull down tank receive as opposed to a regular tank?

General Discussion / The Tiger Crew
« on: August 02, 2011, 09:40:40 PM »
Was playing eastern front a few days ago and I was Panzer Elite. My partner was playing as Werm. His Tiger Tank blew up and somehow I got a 2 man unit called the tiger crew. Coolest thing I have ever seen. Complete badasses. Will these be put into the game permanently, or did I just get lucky with a glitch.

General Discussion / Re: lvl up
« on: August 01, 2011, 08:04:58 PM »
These are all interesting points. Vonklaus and I average anywhere from lvl 6-8. I know that we have smoked a lot of you that say lvl 6-8 players are bad.

I guess we play better as a team. We probably are not as good in 1v1 situations.
About 20 of my losses on EF have been from the game freezing. Other times players have dropped and that is an auto loss usually.  Many games I go into with a noob partner playing against good players. A loss to be sure, but a challenge. Sometimes on EF there just aren't many players to choose from. You get tired of waiting so you just roll with someone who has never played before. Point I'm trying to make is that rank is not always indicitive of a good or bad player. Yhcrana is a very good PE player and only a lvl 8. Not sure exactly why that is. I think on the whole, a players level tells a lot, but not always. I follow the 'I know it when I see it approach.'

My other question would be, what makes a rank? Is it soley based on your win/loss percentage, or is it also based on how you score in the game, etc.?

What do you guys consider a high level player?

Is it a "I know it when I see it approach?"  Or do you guys think somewhere around lvl 6 and up have enough skills to hang in any match.

General Discussion / Re: 4v4 problems
« on: June 24, 2011, 06:57:40 PM »
I agree, 3v3 maps are pretty good. I have not had many issues with them.  4v4 maps are horrible. It's a shame too, because on coho they were great and a ton of fun. I wish relic would look into whatever coho did to make EF and COH run more smoothly in the 4v4.

3v3's are ok with players with good preformance and connection.

I should clarify. I like the 4v4 maps, I just don't like the problems associated with them in game and in the ready room before the game.
