Maxi, I think you've figured it out...

I placed the files in the MP folder as I explained above, but I still couldn't load my saved games.

Well, I looked in my EF folder for the .sga file and it wasn't there. So, I also placed the 6p_caen.sga file in the same location as the standard Eastern Front maps:

"C:\Users\Eric\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\ww2\scenarios

Now everything works perfectly and I'm able to load all of my saved games.

Thanks for the advice, Maxi. It solved a problem that I would never have figured out on my own.

Saved games and replays don't work on custom sga maps. Either you extract the sgb and the other files and place it in "C:\Users\%username%\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\WW2\Data\Scenarios\MP" or you list the sga file in your COH/EF module file, however then you can't play online anymore. So I'd recommend you to extact the files from the archive, if you wish to load a saved game.

Hi Maxi,

I'm bringing this topic back to life again!

I must be missing something here...

As you suggested, I copied the following files to this folder:

6p_caen.info
6p_caen.sgb
6p_caen.tga
6p_caen_id
6p_caen_map.tga
6p_caen_map_base.tga
6p_caen_map_slots.tga
6p_caen_mm.tga
6p_caen_tml.tga

"C:\Users\Eric\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\ww2\Data\Scenarios\MP"

Isn't this everything that I need for a saved game to load properly?

As I said before, I sometimes play against AI and like to save my games once in a while. I don't really understand why this particular map isn't allowing me to load the games that I've saved while playing with this map.

Any thoughts?

Your advice is appreciated!

Finally, after countless searches online, I've found the Caen SP conversion map.

It plays very nicely, but there is one problem that I can't figure out:

From time to time, I like to save a skirmish game so that I can come back to play it later. With the Caen map, the skirmish saves properly. However, when I go to load it from the list, I see the game begin loading and then it goes back to the Main Menu screen a few moments later, before I'm able to begin playing the map.

Any thoughts?

I don't mean to throw off the discussion here, but thought Maxi - or someone else - might be able to help with this...

I found this thread...

http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?235017-NEW-Map-Pack-5-COH-SP-Conversions

Tried downloading the maps. Apparently, only "Trun" works. The other maps just take me to a "File Not Found" page of doom. So, I couldn't get "Miss Drop", "LaFiere", or "Hill 112".

Anyone have any idea where I could download these three maps?

Thanks in advance.

Done. I know maxiking is the "king" of testing around here.  :)

Once the map is test-ready, I'll send the appropriate files out to those who will be testing the map.

Thanks,
Eric

Mapping / (4P) Odessa 1941 - It's coming!

Hello all,
I don't post (at all) here on the forum. However, I do read through the posts here everyday. Glad to see that the Eastern Front community is still alive and well.

Soon, I'll be releasing a new map for all of you to enjoy: (4P) Odessa 1941. The map is located at an industrial harbor, complete with dry-docks, factories, a small town, and some picturesque scenery.

It seems as though most of the current maps for Eastern Front include settings that have already seen heavy fighting; destroyed buildings, debris-filled streets, and carnage. For this release though, my map will be untouched. So, it'll look idyllic - until you play a match and level everything in sight!

The map is 75% complete at the moment. Needless to say, I'll ask for some Testers to run through the map and see what they think before I call this one "Final."

Updates will be on the way as I work towards the completion of the map. No screenshots yet - I don't want to ruin the anticipation!  ;D

For what it's worth -

At least on my computer, I've narrowed the problem down to one thing:

ANNIHILATE - NO POPULATION CAP.

Anyone else try comparing the normal Annihilate mode with the No Population Cap mode? Curious to see if that's a common issue beyond my rig.
