Red Army Suggestions / Soviet Halftrack

I don't know if this has been suggested before (sorry if it has) but does anyone think the Soviets need a halftrack? They don't have anything with transport capability and mobile reinforcment would be great. I suppose they have outposts but they are static and make up for not being able to make forward barracks' from garrisoned buildings. I dunno if the Soviets had their own halftracks but they had ones from the USA via lend lease, the same ones from vanilla CoH.

What do you guys think?

Wehrmacht
* Tiger Ace health increased to 1500hp
* Fixed some penetration bugs with the Tiger Ace crack shot
* Set Pak38 penetration vs KV1 to match Churchill.
* Increased dmg of Panzerschrecks & PaK 38 against IS3 to 0.9.
* Increased penetration of Schreck against KV1 armor to match Churchill armor.
* Added the following changes to StuG IV gun:
 - Set penetration vs. T34/76 to 0.75.
 - Set penetration vs. T34/85 to 0.6375.
 - Set penetration vs. KV armor to 0.5804.
 - Set damage vs. KV armor to 1.2
 - Set damage vs. SU85 to 1.3
 - Set penetration vs. SU85 to 0.65

Perhaps you should look at the fights directly, cover, location and other stuff. Where all of your strelks in cover? Where they in cover at all? Or worse, where they in red cover? Maybe the Random Number God just hates you and every shot made against your infantry hits?

I did state in my first post that cover etc... made little difference. But you could be right in sayng I just had atrocious luck!

Another thought, has the axis ai been modified to be smarter? Maybe that could also explain some things.

My bad, I wasn't very specific was I. Conscripts do, but they always have done, Strelzky seem less durable as do tank hunters and the AT teams take the honours. The other conclusion I was thinking about was that heaps of German stuff got buffed. Is that the case?

Been playing this mod sporadically for a while now. I just downloaded patch 1.7.0.2 and am really having trouble coming to grips with it. The soviet infantry die so easily it borders on ridiculousness, regardless of cover, support fire etc... I'm all for historical accuracy but games still have to be fair. The tanks are still balanced well and even the odds but the trouble is getting there. I often get killed before I can pump them out because i have no fuel because i can't hold points cause my infantry drop like flies! Am I missing something? Could anyone say what impacts the patch has had so I can come to grips with things and figure out what tactics work best now.

Sorry if i come across as venting, I do enjoy this mod and think it is really great! I'm also sorry if this is in the wrong place

I was playing the Dom Pavlova map with a hard Soviet AI ally and it created heps of units and they just hung around in his base doing nothing. I used the command buttons above the map screen and still nothing.

Any advice?

I've had some success using rank 3 Flakpanzers backed up by Knights Cross Holders picking up abandoned Bazooka's as they go. I did try flamethrower pioneers but it didn't go very well!

Note: I'm talking about vanilla CoH in this question.

What is the best way to stop Ranger spamming as the Wermacht? I haven't been able to come up with any effective way to do so. They have the 2 bazooka's to take out bunker's and vehicles, even Panzer 4's, and they have the Thompson upgrade which munches up infantry.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Suggestions / British Jeeps?

I've noticed in the OF campaigns that the British have jeeps with red beret commando drivers and gunners. Would it be a possibility to make these buildable, say from the Commando HQ Glider?

If this has already been done my apologies as I only play EF for the Soviet faction and still play the official factions in vanilla CoH.

Yeah the CPU are far harder in EF than in vanilla CoH, as the Soviets I can just never capture enough points as their infantry just drop like flies :'( Red Banner Streltsky were the only decent counter early game, but now the upgrade costs a whopping 60 manpower per unit! >:(

I think the best strategy for dealing with the C.P.U. is this: Don't put thermal paste on it before attaching the heat-sink...

Anybody know what that is supposed to mean?

A few times while playing as the Soviets i've noticed a bug with the munitions gather rate. In the last game I played as them I had 3 munitions points captured and linked back to my base yet had +0. It only happened after a while and it worked as it should up until a certain point. The only munitions I can remember using was for the T-34/85 upgrade.

Anyone know why this would happen?

First of all this mod is awesome

Now... no matter what I seem to do I can never win the Tannenburg map starting from the left side of the map. No matter who I play as or against I can never seem to hold any of the three fuel points in the map's centre. As a result I get spammed with tanks and can't afford to build any myself :'(

Any help would be appreciated
