Tech Support / Re: Cannot Reinstall COH
« on: July 28, 2011, 02:09:46 AM »
I was able to finally reinstall my Company of Heroes last night by running the removeFakeMSI.bat file that I downloaded from http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?163735-Company-of-Heroes-Error-Codes-Explained&p=2600392#post2600392 but now I cannot launch the game, No error messages.

I double-clicked on the desktop shortcut icon and also the RelicCOH.exe application file in the C:\Program Files(x86)\THQ\Company of Heroes folder but nothing happens! The installation was complete but it did not launch the game as it used to. Please help. TIA

Perhaps there is a way to repair it, like with operating systems? :-\

I don't get what you mean? My operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Tech Support / Cannot Reinstall COH

I cannot reinstall my Company of Heroes because it says that "Another version of the product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel".

I have uninstalled my Company of Heroes using the Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel of my Windows 7 64-bit PC due to some CD install errors when I attempted to install Opposing Fronts after I updated my Tales of Valor to patch version 2.602. The THQ folder no longer exist in the C:\Program Files (x86)\ folder and the Company of Heroes folder no longer exist in the My Documents > My Games folder.

But I still cannot reinstall my Company of Heroes nor Tales of Valor due to the above error message (please see my screenshot: http://ganmaer.webs.com/COH/CANNOT_INSTALL_COH.jpg).

Please help me. TIA

Dude, we do not support cracked versions of CoH.

Aha so that explains it! EF will not work on cracked CoH games, right? Oh well, then I have to concentrate on modding on my own instead. Thanks for the FYI!

I’m sorry if I have to revive this old post because I encountered the same corrupted ModManager.dll error problem just last night which is preventing me from launching the game, this is in reference to what I posted in http://easternfront.org/forums/index.php?topic=2236.msg81690#msg81690.

Here’s the story:

1. I uninstalled my Company of Heroes, Tales of Valor Expansion, and Eastern Front mod and also deleted the THQ folder from the C:\Program Files(x86)\ and in the My Documents folders. I use Windows 7 64-bit.

2. I reinstalled my original Company of Heroes game and added back my custom maps in the C:\Program Files(x86)\THQ\Company of Heroes\WW2\Data\Scenarios\MP folder. The game worked fine in -dev mode using the custom maps that I downloaded from 3rd party sources.

3. So I proceeded in reinstalling my CoH: Talos of Valor expansion and updated my patch version from 2.501 --> 2.502 --> 2.600 --> 2.601 --> 2.602 then I cracked the game so I can play it without the CD.

4. I did the patch updates so I can play the Soviet army in the Eastern Front mod which I installed after the Tales of Valor expansion but when I launched my CoH: Tales of Valor, it gave me something like a corrupted ModManager.dll error message. Same thing happened when I launched the Eastern Front mod.

How can I fix this so I can play the game? Please help. TIA

Q: What do I need to play EF?
A: You only need a single copy of either CoH, OF or ToV. Having two or more of them is fine as well. It is important to have your game patched to 2.602.

Regarding updating to patch 2.602, can I update directly from patch 2.501 to patch 2.602 so I can play EF 1.4? My problem is I cannot play the Soviet Army in Skirmish mode because it's locked.
No, you need to download and install all the updates from 2.501 to 2.602.

Thanks and when I did that last night, I encountered an error message telling me that the "ModManager.dll" is corrupted when I launched CoH: ToV & EF so I wasn't able to play the game. I'm planning to uninstall/reinstall again tonight but what does that error message mean?
