Rebalance of the entire Soviet Faction along with bug fixes, graphical fixes and a few reskins.

Awsome, but I would reccomend posting some news on the front page. Its been a month, and it still says "Don't worry, we will post some real news soon..."

The mod has almost completely died due to balance issues that have not been fixed in the last 3 months. Its a good mod, with a lot of effort, but if its unbalanced no one seems to care.

Im no expert at PE, but if I remeber, you could have 3 hummels and unlimited (well, up to pop-cap) of Falls. Now the hummell is limited at 2 and falls at 4 squads. Whats up with this?

Either relic changed this, or EF mod DID change something they didnt make (which they say they havent). I cant find ANYTHING in the relic change log that says they changed it to 2 (instead of 3), so whats up with this?

Its a bit unfair that the USSR gets 3 katushyas for 300mp each, while PE gets only 2 hummels that have almost identical range for 600mp each.

How many T34s were sacrificed? I know about 2-3 Shermans were sacrificed per Tiger...
Think 9 or 10 shermans per Tiger...
In a single battle a Tiger was hit some 250 times, it took out like 30 tanks and THEN drove 40 miles back to base for repairs. Tiger vs. sherman is a joke.


Anyway, right now the IS-2 is by no means OP. I have about as much trouble killing it as I do killing panthers. Its HARD, but not impossible. You just need some AT weapons and hit its flanks.
 
Its just different from the normal "whatever its a tank just shoot it" of the axis, in that you need to try and hit its side and rear armour.
 
My current record for fastest killing of an IS-2 is ONE shot.
 
 
Ok, fine, it was on a bride and the shot was from a hummell... Still, 1-shot kill.

Yea, the fuel on some maps is insanely dumb, while on other ones its crazy. I just played a 2v2 map where holding HALF of it gave me and my team-mate +48 fuel. Meanwhile, we only had like +20 munitions because there were only 4x +5 munitions.

Other maps, as you said, are complete death-traps for the entire axis side of the game as they have next to no fuel.

Its probably also swamped from the steam sale of $12 for all 3 games. I cant even GET into the main menu in EF (but i can in normal CoH...)

Im getting the same thing. The loading screen is like 2 minutes now (even in normal CoH) and it takes another 2 or 3 min to log in. My BET is that relic servers are getting swamped (hey, yesterday the record for most players was set - over 12,000) by all the older CoH players comming back due to this mod.

Thats pretty impressive for a mod, i must say...

Yea, regardless of the tank, the soviets didnt really have anything that wouldnt get eaten by the 88 or KWK 43 L/71. Just looking at the RL stats, the KT could take out an IS2 at around 1000m, while the IS2 would need to be at around 500m~ (1000m~ if it hits the lower front hull).

Dont knowif this is a bug, or where it should go, but its interesting. If you play axis (or any faction I assume) and capture a soviet weapon of some sort (I.E. mortar), you CANT retreat it. This makes sense for the soviets, but as its been taken by the axis, it should be retreat-able.

Any ideas?

Ok, i just tried a 2v2 as PE (wehr team-mate) vs. a Soviet + US team. We DOMINATED them.

PE is probably the BEST faction to use against Soviets, as their infantry just MAULS them horribly. Literally, i just left a single G43 squad behind green cover, and killed about a dozen conscripts before loosing a single man.

Luft is definately the way to go, as everything about it is EPIC vs. Soviets. The Flak 36 just destroys early game soviet inf. and the 88 is just an area-of-denial system against soviet tanks. That thing just EATS T-34 tanks. (Ok, i left a ketten spotting for it.

As for ISU-152s, OK, they are harder to kill, and may be a bit OP. I mean, come on, they survive direct V1s (5% bug i think). Anyway, to kill them, use the henschle run. THe ISU-152 is to slow to get out of the area, so you can literally kill one for about 200 muni. In this game, they had TWO ISU-152 tanks on the field at once (i thought it was hard capped at 1), and I literally got them both down to 5% health in a single strafing run. My team-mate then called in a firestorm, and killed them both (well, the last henchle shot tied the firestorm on the 2nd ISU).

By far, soviet tanks are NOT OP vs. PE. Finally, PE is actually a VERY good faction to play :P

^ Just another reason the 152 is broken.

The health needs a SIRIOUS nerf in comparison to the 88. If we were going by realism, then yes, the 152 WOULD kill the 88 in one or two shots, but the 88 would have killed the 152 a dozen times before it was even in range.

doomlord - I served in artillery, and very familiar directly with this PM-38 (now it calls PM-120 or 2B11 120mm mortar)

It is possible, and NOT HARD to fire and HIT THE MOVING TARGET with indirect fire (with mortars is in really it calles HALF-INDIRECT FIRE). It is just need to recognise a speed of moving target, thats all :)

And, sorry - but PUMA is not a Tiger armored, andits armor is not a problem to smash with even near miss of 16kg shell.

Yes, but do you think you could kill an APC, WHILE its shooting at you, with a mortar? I have no problem that a mortar can kill vehichles, as the wehr mortar has killed M8s before, but it pretty much instantly looses if the M8 gets some shots at it.

The russian mortar at the current version is insane. If you can get it to fire in the correct place, THEY ARE HARD COUNTERS TO PUMAS

Im sorry, but WHAT!? How is an indirect fire unit a HARD counter to anything. Especially a mortar that hard counters an armored scout car...

As Zers was saying, it would be totally fine for this to be an exmplacement or something along those lines, but it makes NO sense. For this kind of damage to exist, it NEEDS to have insane movement penatlies, if any movement at all.
