ok but could you add that to the off topic section?
Thread moved to other discussion,
so I think I'm actually pretty much on-topic.

Besides other people who only spend their time to complain
on every single post, good job!

Yes, Im from finland but I have never said I want to see the finns ingame. I've made a lot of arguments against having them instead!
Same here, perkele!  ;D

For people interested in Finnish continuation war
I recommend Tali-Ihantala 1944, watched that movie
yesterday. And it's the best Finnish war-movie, or even Finnish movie, I have ever watched  ;)

Just had to log in to correct some stuff.

Why all this talk about Finnish tanks? We had
around 50 tanks in the whole winterwar, while the Russians came with thousands.
And the most used AT-weapon wasn't panzerfausts & shrecks,
actually it was molotov cocktails that were thrown into the engine room or right into the cockpit on most of the Russian tanks, wheeled AT-cannons were also used more then shrecks and fausts. After all trenchshoveling it was no big deal to use the shovel to break up a hatch. :D

Sub-machineguns, were seldom used,
this was one weakness when the Finnish flanks were stormed
by Russians, but those times we had the Russian artillery
bombing our flanks(mostly trenches) non-stop which lead to a total massacre of their own troops.

And also, to move fast through the snowy terrain skies were
used very often.

And btw, I'm looking very much forward for this mod! And I don't
want it ruined by some Finnish forces  ;D

Now I'm not sure about who are comparing any thing but I did just give som fact about the two weapons. The only thing you can compare with these two guns are the bullets (7.62x54mmR)
But on battlefield they are totaly diffrent, you can't run with the Maxim under your right arm
and fire like you can do with Degtyaryov.
Heavy and light, totally diffrent.

If you ever get the maxim in to the game in the hands of a mg-team I suggest that you use the animation of a cannon when moving it.   ;)

Eastern Front / Re: Who was the best commander in WWII?

Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim (Finland), he took Finland trought the war even if we didn't win it.
Mannerheim didn't cause any unnecessary casualties against the Russians.

Many said that 1 Finn could take down at least 4 Russians.

Winter War

The infantry ratio was 4 to 1 (400 Russians was 100 Finns)
The tank ratio was 200 to 1 (200 Russian tanks was 1 Finnish tank)
The aircraft ratio was 30 to 1 (30 Russian planes was 1 Finnish plane)

The Finns: 250 000 men, 30 tanks 130 aircraft Losses: 26 662 dead, 39 886 wounded, 1 000 captured
The Russians: 1,000,000 men, 6 541 tanks, 3 800 aircraft Losses: 126 875 dead, 264 908 wounded, 5 600 captured, 2 268+ tanks

 ;D

Anyone who wan't to call the Russian commanders: Kliment Voroshilov, Kirill Meretskov,
Semyon Timoshenko, BEST!?!? :D

Hm i Would prefer their standart mg DP2  ;D
Which is more portable (If we think about the same weapon Degtyaryov), it would fit good in a Russian Engineer team or a Assault team for a uppgrade. But Maxim is a moveable stationary mg,
and degtyaryov is a hand held mg, you can here it from it's name: Ruchnoy Pulemyot Degtyaryova Pekhotny which means Degtyaryov hand held infantry machine gun.

The maxim mg, is easy to handle, with its heavy weight of around 60 kg, and small recoil, and a rate of fire abot 10 shots/sec. , it's easy to hit anything that is moving. ^^

My grandfather fought the winterwar (talvisota) against the Russians, so I hope that
I know a bit what I'm talking about :) And we Finns used some Russian weapons in the war,
Later my dad used them in the military 20 years later :)
My dad is a machinegunner ^^ And his favourite machinegun was Degtyaryov, which has a bit
slower rate of fire then other mgs. And in the war Finns stole Degtyaryovs of Russians and used them  againts them, about 9000 Degtyaryov were found in the fronts used by Finns.

But I don't think it fits the role of moveable stationary mg in the game.

@Dragon93: Word on that.

I'm looking forward for this mod.
