I haven't updated EF Mod on Steam yet. I was wondering what the admins here would think about restarting that boardgame you guys did A LONG TIME AGO. With everyone picking their faction and side and battling through the sections of Europe tied into In-Game EF Maps.
The concept was really fun and cool and it'd be a way for me to get my friends back into EF Mod. Next time around would have to do a better job of getting rid of the nonserious players and those who can't be relied on to play week-to-week.

I stopped playing EF awhile ago because of computer issues and I was too lazy to go through the crazy installation process for EF again. But now that you have it on Steam it is fast and so simple! I'm very impressed with the persistence and dedication from the moderators of this game; and because of your work I will be getting all my friends BACK into playing Eastern Front!
ADD me on Steam: Michaelcycle13 (the one with the picture of a dude with brown hair against a blue sky background) And let's play!
Also! This community at one time started an online board-game/COH interactive mass game! And me and my friend would be very interested in starting another one of those!
(I forget what the name was, it was like... ugh I forget.)

Hey Hey, in response to BlackBishop.
Perhaps if you were to negotiate with that other modding group you could find a mix style of Britain that satisfies not only the Eastern Front community but also the Afrika Modders. I'm saying here you have an opportunity to easily exceed and go up and beyond of what people thought possible. Creating a balanced Mod with 8 Factions! 8! And it wouldn't take much effort at all because the Afrika Modders have already basically assembled and designed 95% of the mod.
Even if the Desert Rats don't answer the RMC question maybe you could design your Eastern Front Brits, while adding the Desert Rats. So there could be Northern British troops and Southern British Troops adding a whole new diversity/angle to British military. You could input the maps designed by Afrika Mod into EF making it, OH EF and AK.
Combining the two communities could also bring much publicity and popularity to the Eastern Front mod along with bedazzled VCOH founds who just learned that there's a mod with 8 Factions in Company of Heroes.
I just don't understand why two great Modding groups wouldn't try to combine to completely top off the diversity of World War II.
In my eyes most work would come from balancing the newly added factions.
Can I get some feedback here? C'mon guys, let's bring us 8 factions

Here you will recognize another developer group who is building two new factions just as you have. One is a British faction for North Africa, and another is the Afrika Korps. Why not, combine forces with these creators and expand this to the southern front with Africa! You have come so far and if this was accomplished you could find your "standalone" british faction! As well as completely build the entire European war!
So, here is my piece... and I'm not sure if the codecs or the programming will work, but these guys have already made a lot! Perhaps you could arrange it to where Eastern Front and Afrika Mod combine forces and complete the entire European theatre!
Could you imagine? 8 Factions? Being able to choose to play Eastern Front, Western Front or North Africa maps!
Just saying, they already have a lot programmed, and they have been building many maps.
Give it a shot eh?

Okay just played another game. Got some more to add
1. T-34, is wayyy too good, too good at running men over and deals out too much damage. Armor is too thick, not historical and not realistic.
2. In-balance with a two bar vet mortar and jagers. A squad of Jagers was point blank against the mortar and the single mortar riflemen annihilated the entire squad.
3. Cocktails, I threw two cocktails at a damaged sturmpanzer, and it died.
Anyways that's my piece of advise.

In answer to Marshall, I have that problem too and I'm running some great gaming comps here in my home. I found that pressing 'play' and then waiting some time, and then going to the start-bar and clicking the steam icon to go into 'library', that once library for steam is opened it'll snap to launch.
I'd like to add my thoughts to the mod, I was apart of the Beta and made some suggestions but I'd like to see some things fixed.
1. Marder II health, my Marder was getting ripped to pieces at range against a T-70, takes three shots from the russian tin-can to render the Marder useless.
2. Russian MG Bunker health, Apparently a Panzer IV and two panzerjager squads cannot silence a Russian bunker when it's being repaired by two damaged russian engineer squads. (When I say damaged I mean there are 1 or 2 people left in each squad). The Russian bunker repairs sooo quickly! Was repairing faster than my forces could damage.
3. Capturing Rate on Panzerjagers, too slow man... too slow...
4. The great Famo cannot revive enemy tanks, ran into the problem multiple times, couldn't get back T-34's.
5. Crumbled enemy T-34's now vanish from the battlefield, not ran over, not destroyed ruins, just vanish.
6. Panzerjagers are inefficient against enemy armor, several scenarios show lack of accuracy and health.
7. T-34's match Panzer VI? They seem to act equivalent in the mod, dealing similar damage. Not sure if that's intentional.
8. Panzerfusiliers match Command Squad? They seem to act equivalent in the mod, dealing similar damage. Not sure if that's intentional.
Anyways, those are the issues I've uncovered so far, some might be intentional but I'd like to voice my opinion. Besides that...
FANTASTIC WORK! Ostheer is amazing and it more developed and structured since it's Beta phase, excellent work guys. I'm going to go on and play right now actually.
