Hey guys. I just had a quick 1v1 and say something strange that caught my eye.
When Strelky have been upgraded to Red Banners, and then have a weapon upgrade, they are given an inherent ability. However, while I was under the impression that if the banner-bearer is killed the ability is temporarily lost, on two occasions I also lost the ability when the squad dropped to four members, regardless of the fact that the flag-bearer was still alive.
On reflection, I can understand this, as there are fewer weapons in the squad to make the ability a possibility, but I just wanted to check if this was in fact a bug.
If so, I will attempt to replicate the situation and grab a screenshot.

So, in light of Maxi's recent conversion of the popular "Langres" into a winter map, I have decided to contribute with a conversion of my own! However, back in the past I made several map conversions, either converting 2 players maps into 4 players, or campaign maps into skirmishes, and I wanted to see which of these people would like to see, winterised and ready for the eastern front!
So please feel free to post your vote, or drop a message giving any suggestions! Once my current projects are out of the way, I'll begin production!

Again, as already explained in Kharkov (2), I had plenty of opportunity to let flow my creative juices (that sounded better in my head). So, here is the plan for the second map I have in mind for Kharkov, Freedom Square. Please forget the label "Victory Square"! I had no resources with me and mistook it for a square in Moscow. Anyways! So as usual, anything to add?

So, thanks to an exceptionally pointless and boring seminar, I have devised plans for two maps, the first of which is here! Although I apologise for the quality (it was written on a notepad, after all), I'm sure you can at least understand the basics! Boxes are buildings, thin rectangles are ruins, cross-hatching are barricades (both passable and impassible), stars are victory points and the letters are resources. So, anybody have any thoughts?

Well, without breaking a sweat, I'm back!
Now, this map is still in the planning stage and until that's done, it's not really worth showing anything!
However, considering that this is the famous Kummersdorf, I feel that there should be plenty of wrecked vehicles (including the fabled Maus, buried within the facility). On this note however, there are far too few wrecked vehicles available on worldbuilder that are "map objects", in that they cannot be resurrected by the Bergetiger. So I ask you this: is there any way to turn more of the wrecks into map objects?
This place is calling out for flattened Stugs and Jagdpanthers!

Although this is far from done, I thought I'd post an early picture of Novorossiysk! This will be designed as a competitive 1v1, the same size and a similar territorial layout to Angoville, based around the dockyards of the city. So, I'll say that this is probably about 20% done, and you'll see more progress soon!

Nice and quick, but as promised I present the early stages of Feodosia! Now, before you all say that it's bland and hideous, that's because I haven't changed the atmosphere settings and I'm using the default grass (seeing as it suits the location the most). Anyway, more pictures are coming! Let me know if you have any thoughts.

So, while I'm finishing off my current project, I am beginning to make plans for others. Considering that the mapping poll still has another week to go, I figured that I could get at least another 2 maps planned in this time, one of which may even be finished.
That said, it has become obvious that there are not enough 1vs1 maps on the Eastern Front, so both maps will fit the bill!
The first will be moderately hilly, with a Mediterranean feel to it, while the other will be an enclosed, industrial wasteland. What I do not have, however, are names or locations.
So, can anybody think of an Eastern Front related battle within either of these two locales?

Well ladies and gents, I have finished yet another mapping project and believe it or not, I am actually starting to run out of ideas. Although there are countless battles to create scenarios for, it is far easier to have somebody else to choose for you. I am willing to make just about anything!
So, while my workload out of the mod is increasing I am leaving this poll open, so that when my workload lessens for the holiday (in two weeks time), I can begin work on the map of your choice!
Please vote! Everybody has three votes (just in case you want to see more than just one thing), and if you have a specific scenario you would like to see, vote and leave a comment! Even if it doesn't win the poll, it will certainly go on my to-do list!
Also, if you happen to choose "Other?", please comment and let me know what exactly you prefer! I can easily add more categories to the list!

So after a day of planning and slaving I thought I'd leave you guys and gals a little teaser of my next project. This is only a very early stage shot of the minimap, and believe me, there's plenty more to do! My aim before the end is to have dense forest and farmland, flooded, with as much mud as humanly possible! Anyways, more updates are coming!

Ladies and gents, by request I present Prague (2)! What you can see here is only the basic heightmapping, texture and spline work. There are few objects, no fx and no territory at the moment, so bare with me. As usual, critique is welcome so let me know what you think! Given a few days this map should be done, so watch this space! I'll post more images tomorrow, seeing as it's pretty late now. Until then, enjoy.

You'll have to forgive my persistence, but I figured that I would enjoy the Worldbuilder while I still have the time! So I present to you a very very early concept for Vyazma (6). I've wanted to design a map with this layout for a long time, but I could never find a place that suited it. As soon as I saw the geography for Vyazma, I couldn't resist! However as this is still very early in the development, I would love to hear some input on how you folks would like it to look. What weather, level of destruction or defences would you like in a map so heavily dominated by bridgeheads? Although I understand skepticism towards many bridge maps (as they usually only afford one style of gameplay), this layout prevents the destruction of a bridge causing a ceasefire. Instead, it moves the combat further around the map. Here is the west side of the map, showing links to the southern base and island, and the northern links to the main island. And this is the Eastern island, again, showing the link to the southern island and the mainland. Let me know what you think!

Ladies and Gents, I present Korosten! Inspired by St. Hilaire (4), Burnieres-Sur-Mer (2), Montargis Region and a couple of wartime photos I have, I figured I would pull this together while I still had the chance before I start University again. At the moment the map is almost finished, with just a few texture blips to sort out and a little bit of excitement to add to the industrial area, as well as the territory to map properly. I would however like to hear any opinions on the work I've done so far, before I shelf this one with Voronezh (4). At present, this is Korosten set during the early thaw, so there's plenty of wetness on the road, but plenty of snow remaining. The central bridge, with two other pathways alongside it, through more treacherous water. A closer look at the road textures, with the slushed, melting snow. The South-Western side of the industrial sector. The Industrial Sector. An unfixable bridge on the Eastern side of the Industrial sector. Any opinions of this would be very appreciated! I've not been completely satisfied with this since I threw it together. The central, Northernmost railway. The minimap. Just in case anybody is wondering, opposing sides are not separated by the river, rather the teams are. The narrow side of the river contains almost half of the resources, but provides far denser combat, whereas the wider side of the river contains more industrial obstacles, forest and sporadic fighting.

Although I've been a long-term follower of the Eastern Front mod, this is my first post. After creating COH maps for the better part of the last two years, I finally decided contribute to the mod, and although I'm still very rusty at adding loading screens and such, I am always very pleased with the aesthetics of the maps themselves, and wanted to see if anybody had any opinions or criticisms before I complete the map and consider entering it. Here is Voronezh in heavy rain, heavily bombed but not utterly destroyed. http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g185/Daevie/?action=view¤t=1.pngThe Southern Courtyard, open yet enclosed. http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g185/Daevie/?action=view¤t=2.pngThe Eastern street. http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g185/Daevie/?action=view¤t=3.pngThe Northernmost Railyard, shelled and restricting. http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g185/Daevie/?action=view¤t=4.pngCity outskirts. http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g185/Daevie/?action=view¤t=5.pngWestern countryside, around ten minutes into the weather transition. http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g185/Daevie/?action=view¤t=6.pngThe City of Voronezh from above, South looking North. http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g185/Daevie/?action=view¤t=7.pngNorth, looking South. http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g185/Daevie/?action=view¤t=8.pngEastern Outskirts. http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g185/Daevie/?action=view¤t=9.pngMinimap. http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g185/Daevie/?action=view¤t=Minimap.pngPlease let me know what you think! Of around 30 maps that I have created, this has been amongst the most enjoyable to build and playtest, and many thanks to the Eastern Front crew are due for allowing me to play this map with the Red Army!
