General:
* You can build an American officer, sniper and engineers in the mansion on stalingrad map by starting position 6 on fixed positions.

* Maxim gun was separated from it's base(MG dugout).
* OBR 76mm was aswell separated from it's base and something
* KV-2 has no description on the Commander Tree icon
* The T90 cant destroy buildings it just whittles them down to almost no health and leaves the building invisible which can only be destroyed with an explosive weapon
* Unable to leave buildings with an observer
* Troops is spelt wrong in the armory


Wehr:
* Icon above inspired assault is pink.

PE:
* PE double shreck and G43 don't work
* There is a chance for the Jagdtiger to bounce shots on the British command truck.
* Jagdtiger has Tiger Ace description in Call-in button.

I can't save my map, it says i have to have 2 or more starting positions owned by different players
I did placed them from Object placement>ebps>then starting  pos 1 and pos 2,but still it won't save ???

You need to place one of the ebps\gameplay\starting_position_0X, the number doesn't decide about the objects owner, it just describes the variants (1 and 2 are rural HQs, 3 and 4 urban, 5 and 6 industrial, 7 and 8 holland).
You need to assign these starting positions to a player, you can do this to the right, world is the default setting, change it to player 1 and player 2 for both starting positions. You'll also need to do that to the object ebps\gameplay\map_entry_point.


When I tried saving my nw map I got a message that said, "There are more than 1 sector creating entities in the same sector..."

Select the TER tool in the toolbar and then click on "Calculate Voronoi" to the right.

What victory point actually shows up in multiplayer games?

ebps/gameplay/victory_point ( it's on the end of the ebps/gameplay list (don't use the one with the _sp ending!)

What's the difference between a decal and a splat?

Splats can have cover decals can't. Decals are "cheap" versions of splats and may be disabled on low graphic settings.

How to remove the impass sectors?

There are orange impass and red ones. I can only remove the orange ones.



Either update the impass map (Overlay > Regenarte all pathfinding)
or there are some objects under the earth or they are part of a object spline.

- Flat ground (high editor)

- removing objects (object editor)

- removing spline (spline editor)



What are stamps and how can I use them?

Stamps are basicly the copy & paste function of the worldbuilder, you selected a couple of objects, splines, spalts & decals and "stamp" them.
In the vCoH Worldbuilder the stamp tool is broken so make sure to check out this website for Cope's stamp tool fix. (This will also allow you to save Atmosphere Presets)

Hello, I have another problem...
The grass types have vanished and I can't change the grass now. The only grass type which appear is the "No grass".
How can I fix it?

Where in the objects list can I find the fence used around the barracks section of Sturzdorf? Like in this image:



The fence is in walls/stone/ and is named concrete_m_...

Can you change the size of a map while working on it?

Only by stamping the whole map.

Is there a way to change the angel of an object? like pointing an object upwards.

You can move it e.g. on an edge and click "Autoalign", then move it to its designation.
Note: The collision box is NOT going to get moved... So beware of models which you can walk through.
So use other objects underneath your object or use the impass editor


How can i put starting base defenses (for example the bunkers for a wher player) and how do i put victory points?

gameplay>bunker_marker for the base defense. In the same folder you also find victory_point.

Place a spline "Ditch_heavy/ditch_heavy_01" in the map.



Press "Select All" then the Colourize-button and set the alpha value to 0 on both sides so that the bar is completely black.



If you did everything right the texture disappeard. Now heavy (green) cover is provided by an invisible ditch.

Just some tips so you enjoy mapping and not crashing all the times like I do :P.

(Yes, every single crash has happend to me too.)

-Never use too big heightmap layers!
-Never select an empty object spline!
-Never use objects from visuals\environment\art_ambient\buldings\VARIOUSFOLDERS\substance_ribbons
-Never create a directory containing umlauts (ä, ö, ü). You won't be able to open the map then.


These ones aren't causing crashes but are bad for the map's performance:

-objects>nis_objects>: These are NIS objects... please don't overuse them because NIS objects are very detailed (and some of them are bugged)

-objects>oob_objects>: AWESOME! AWESOME! Simple tree sprite (2D "card" which shows ALWAYS the front). Use in Non-playable Area only!

-objects>rubble_debris>floating_barrels/wood: Please, only place them in the water :P.

-objects>rubble_debris>nis_carnage: I often use those models on a field full of rubble. Looks more realistic and gives cover.

-objects>rubble_debris>rubble_barricade_double_02: Has no collsion model tanks & infantry will pass.

-objects>ruins>caen_temp: temp = temporary: Don't use.

-objects>single_player>: there are some useful objects but also bugged ones

-objects>statues>caen_angel_01: don't use

-objects>vehicles>civilian>hardtop_conv_01: unfinished object... Don't use

-objects>vehicles>wrecked_vehicles>: Use only with _map_object ending

-objects>walls>stone>ruined_building_01>: Don't use because debris is falling from it everytime you restart the map.

-Prevent the usage of objects from all visual>subfolders except if you want to decorate some buildings.

Suggestions / Operation Tiger Hunt

Here is a suggestion which I posted on a other thread a couple of days ago it's called Tiger Hunt.

Every wehr player spawns with one Tiger but only one gets the tiger ace. Every players tiger has unique abilities for example one can use Tank Assault, the other one can call in artillery. Also one should be able to call in light infantry support or recon/air strikes. The Tiger Ace should be able to have a Overkill ability: It shoots faster and deals more damage but after the ability has run out he will get slower for 10 seconds.
 
The allies have a fuel upgraded HQ sector so they can choose their strategy on their own. The map should be big so that the allies spawn around the axis also the axis shouldn't be able to enter the "safezone" of a allied player (maybe place mines?)

There should be a victory points counter. The allies lose points every 10 seconds (maybe 25 points) but they gain points if they manage to destroy a Tiger tank (200 points) (not tiger ace).

If tiger ace has been destroy the axis lose the game (even if there are still tigers on the field).

Maybe there should be a level up system too.

I think it wouldn't be that hard to make because there are already a lot of icons from the Tiger ace campaign. I would personally make the map if possible :P.

althought this is a forum for RTS on the Eastern Front... I'm going to post a map I made 4 months ago. It's a map for the game Day of Defeat: Source (would be quiet nice If there would be a Eastern Front mod to for it :P).

Balance Discussion / [1.4.0.0] The Red Tide

Hello,
I just played a 2vs2 in CoH:EF. The game was pretty balanced. Two soviets against me (wehr/blitz) and another guy with PE.
Then it happend. The soviet attacked me with his blob of marine infantry, conscripts and tank hunters. My 3 stuh's vet 3 easily hunted them down and I told my teammate that the middle vp is cleared so he moved in. Then he moved in and the same blob as the one I killed stood in front of him and then the soviet player said: "Red Tide ftw".

Now my thoughts. You get the Red Tide ability with 4 commandpoints and it's for. It respawns all infantry units which are killed while the ability is active and it's for free. Now lets look at "the counterpart" of the US Army. They need 3 commandpoints to get the ability to respawn two tanks after they were destroyed and this ability costs 200 ammo.

So in opinion (and/or):
 -The Wehrmacht/PE should see if the Red Tide is active.
 -Higher the cost of the Red Tide
 -Lower the duration of it.
 -Respawn only 3-4 killed infantry sqauds (conscripts doesn't count).

Hi,
I played a game about 10 minutes ago and noticed something again. I played as soviet and I built a sniperteam. After that I upgraded them to artillery spotter for 125 ammo. I bashed vehicles and tanks with them!

The point is that you are able to call in the artillery of the lieutenant and of the captain for free but as a british it costs 150 for each barrage. I think that's a way overpowered. I would suggest making sniper teams able to call in artillery for 150 ammo every time like the british command units or reduce the artillerys damage.

If I go with my cursor across tank hunters then they are called Stelky.
