I'm pretty sure that its always vehicles. What kind of infantry to plan to add to the Wehr that they don't already have? The problem with rewarding Infantry is that they all fill a key niche and you can't really change that. Maybe we could replace the Stormtroopers with something, but what would that be?

Replacing a unit that has no key role like the Officer  :D

Higher ranked Officer that has the ability of "inspired speech". Nearby infantry cant get suppressed while ability is active

I actually find that the Wehr officer is extremly useful and I often employ him onto the Frontlines for his mortar abilities. Plus he can speed up production, quite key for getting that first Panther up and running.

I probably wouldn't use the unit you suggested because, it lacks all the other abilities of the Officer and I don't think giving up my Mortar arty and Force retreat is worth un-suppressible infantry for 5 secs.

It wouldn't be to good to add reward infantry under the "Reward Vehicles" selection now would it?  ::)

I actually just used the officer to beat a camping brit in an automatch at his own game. He figured that I went T3 blitz so I would have no arty and thus no way to break his sim-city. I got to T3 and the first thing I built was an officer.

Why, you may ask?

As soon as he began to build a 25-pdr Mr. Officer rained down hell upon him. As the game progressed I used him actually quite a bit and I must say is really an underestimated unit.

"You've been in the candy again, haven't you?"

yeah I use the officer as a support role (as intended) when hes not increasing production or calling arty strikes, hes an incredibly fast capper, which helps a lot because capping tends to degenerate into a chaotic and desperate event into late game :P

I noticed the Major in the com squad caps slower then conscripts.
1. is this so?
2. What is the Com Squad capping rate? The Officer Capping rate?

Yea, its so. That's why I make the major cap the first point so my conscripts once created can catch up with him. :)

Did anyone notice that your first starting pio with wehr gets a capping bonus? ;)

I forgot the values but you should play around with it. If you watch closely there's about a 5-10 second difference.

I'm not sure if the bonus disappears in some way or another. I would assume that if your pio squad is killed you'd lose it ;)

Shouldn't we close this thread anyway? We're way off topic and this is pretty much decided.

I want to know more about this starting Pioneer! How did you find this out, man? And is it the same with other units, such as the Engineer?
