urban combat doctrine new special features
« on: September 21, 2016, 11:03:20 PM »
i'm suggesting something :)

what about adding a unique and special features for the T-34s 85s or 76s, IS2s, and SU-76s tanks when the player decides to pick the Urban Combat Doctrine... said tanks will now have the dug-in ability. it's like the churchills hull down position..
and all infantry will now camouflaged when in good cover..

It is an interesting idea, though the british already have this ability and we would rather not copy other abilities if possible. The camoflauge in cover for infantry is also used by the ostheer fortress doctrine so we would rather not copy that either

fun fact: the breakthrough doctrine in the First version of EF had a hull-down ability for the IS-2 as a placeholder before we replaced it with the KV-1

Yeah, we used the hulldown sandbags for the Churchill though so it looked like garbage. We also had a sandbag fortify on the Zis gun a few years back which also looked like garbage.

Short of it is, if we wanted hulldown not to look like garbage, we'd need to make the fortifications model for each individual vehicle, which as you can imagine would be quite time consuming.
