[FIXED] A patch is required to play online...
« on: January 24, 2010, 09:05:08 PM »
I have the latest version of CoH, OF, ToV(2.601.0), and EF(1.01) installed. When running EF through the launcher, I'm greeted by this message:
Quote
A patch is required to play online, the download is 137.23MB. Do you wish to download now?
When I press "OK", the patch downloads for a couple of seconds before failing. I don't really know what it's trying to patch, since I can play fine without EF. I can't play EF until it is somehow patched.

From the looks of the partially downloaded patch file, it's trying to download the 2.100-2.101 patch.

I don't think I can provide any other information except that I'm using the boxed version of CoH and OF and the Steam version of ToV. Both versions are installed in completely different drives.

Do you normally use Steam version for online play?

Yes, but I just found something out. The problem has little to do with EF. I tried launching CoH where I installed the boxed version and I get the same patching problem. I guess it really has something to do with them being installed in different places.

I will see if updating that non-Steam installation will fix the problem.

EDIT: Alright, updating the boxed version completely fixed the problem.
