Russians can pick up weapons now?

When did this happen?  I been away from playing Eastern Front for a bit but they can pick em up now?  I saw it in a multiplayer match.  I took a pic too.

They've always been able to pick up hand-held weapons. What they cannot do is re-crew weapon systems.

No, any infantry squad can pick up weapons. They just can't re-crew weapons because Relic messed that part up apparently.

Someone has to fix it for the Ostheer.  Right now, they sent something over to Relic but I don't think they've heard back.

I think it would be best if all Rus. inf units were able to use at least handheld weapons.
it makes perfect sense imho

and as for mortars, AT guns and MG dugouts
i can't see a reason for them not to be able to be remanned.
if not by conscritps, at least from some more experienced units.

really hope someone is looking into it
as imho, it wipes out a sh1tload of realism
to see a battlefield full of deserted weapons
and masses of infantry not being able to use them

while browsing at older forum threads i've found out that it's a coding issue that can't be resolved unless Relic unlocks these abilities for the new army.
(i know i should prolly read first then post)

So in that case my wish remains the same
"really hope someone is looking into it"
but this time it concerns someone from Relic
to find the solution
and someone from the modding team to bust his balls untill he does


alternatively i wouldn't mind replacing the Brits with the Ruskys in order to have the full abilities of a normal army faction

They can pick up light weapons, but can't recrew heavy weapons or emplacements.
