Yeah man, exactly what I've seen is one of those 3. Once the Soviets get enough Command Points, gameplay changes to that.

I also see them drive katyushas toward me (like charging..?)

I would really like to see the Soviets continually use like a combined arms kind of thing throughout the entire game on any difficulty, and not spam a unit. It's just no fun when they keep you so excited trying to hold them off early game, but then crap out as they switch over to spam.

Playign as Soviets is very fun, because they Wehrmacht AI generally has a balanced force that poses multiple threats.

They just produce them every time they're available.  I have only seen this a couple of times, but on the Moscow map I had a normal AI just produce Kats, and roll them toward my base where they got destroyed before they fired a shot...over and over like a parade.  I've not seen it often as some of the other posters here though.

The focus on mech salvage I see in the standard CoH AI play also.  Sometimes you seem to see bergtigers produced well before you see offensive tanks on the field.  But agree have played AI where I had multiple animal-killers on the feild because wrecks were being rebuilt - that's a strat we've used ourselves now.

When I first encountered this problem I was on a team with a USSR playing as US VS 2 Wehr. I blew 2 bridges and set up about 4-5 MG post, a couple AT guns, and was set.

I was making an assault force preparing to destroy one of the CPU's when I see 3 Kats come running through my defensive outpost.

I'm like "Er...Okay?  :o"

I send in a tank to help them.
A StuG comes out of no where and one shots them all, and I leave with my tank.

While I was concentrating on that, I hadn't noticed the CPU had produced 2 in the time I was gone, and within 2 minutes, there was a 3rd rolling to my base.

Eventually a Tiger and some panzerIV had come rolling to the base. They took the AT guns out and a bunch of the mg post while they were at it. The Shermans saved me.

But I couldn't rebuild because the CPU was bringing nothing to help but Kats. And they were blowing up. Everywhere.
I had to use my shermans to open fire on the burnt pieces of *%)@#%

EVEN WHEN I BROKE THE DEFENSES OF THE GERMANS, I headed for a CPU base. I figured the Russian would help me or go to the other CPU. It sent Kat's.
They got destroyed.
It sent them again.
They got destroyed.
It sent them again.
They got destroyed.
It sent them again.

This time they lived because I had sent a sherman to burn out the ATs, Kreig Barracks, and Panzer Command.

Those are times when I am tempted to send an airstrike throught their base.

I dont know why so many people think the Russian AI is so good. I mean they are pretty good, but if your clever you can still beat them. I've done it several times.

I was playin some guy the other day and he had two Normal German AI on his team, and he gave me only one Normal Russian AI. That means it was 3 vs 2. I finally convinced him to give me an easy cpu too. All my AI did was make conscripts. He was winning for a while, but I eventually pushed him back. I was about to finish him and then the game crashed............

For the Russian matches, yes. Because you don't know their skill level.

But if your a level 3 VS a level 15, you have to think in your head (OH SHIT OH SHIT)

If you were to give him CPU's I'd give him 2 hards, while you have experts. Just one step up to even the ranks out.

I'm not certain about this, but you get annoyed by your allies AI, i think you can order him to hold position or defend somewhere and the AI builds a lot of different units. Then you can ask him to attack.

I'm not sure if this works cause' I can't remember that I have done it with soviets :-\, but maybe some of you can try...

Yea it works. If you tell them to attack, they will attack.

With ALL of their units, showing no distribution or strategy what so ever.

true true. that doesnt matter to me. As long as they keep the enemy busy, while I plan the real attack.

They aren't spamming Katyushas, those are Kamikazes. They got the Japanese from the East, and got them to drive.

Perhaps they plan to use the rockets like a shotgun?
