Just wanted to wish the EF community a Happy 4th of July!!

Also.....
I was thinking:

Can the Ostheer get for T1 or T2 units...a support Grenadier squad??

K98 Specialists (or another name):
---4 Grenadiers, seasoned and expert with the K98
---Armed with with K98s only, and as veterancy progresses, they recieve an accuracy & damage bonus. And maybe a critical hit bonus too. No health upgrades.
---Cannot have any other upgrades, except "improved sights" or "K98 Scopes"  (improving accuracy and range). No PanzerFaust.
--- Fantastic on long range, but downright terrible in close combat.....Ideal for placing into buildings or supporting tanks...also a great flank defense.
---Grenades or Build sandbags ability
---Moves quickly
---Once Vet 3 is achieved they gain an extra squad member OR gains the ability to sprint OR cloak (or all 3 ;P.....jk)
---280-300 MP cost
---4 Pop cap

Well mate, your K98 Specialists are nothing to hard to make and it would make a lot of sense to have a long-range support squad armed only with rifles. However their use would be very limited in usefulness in the long-run of the game (particualarly after Tier 2-3 for any Allied Nation) because when light armor or Rangers/Commandos/Red Banner Strelky come in they are screwed.

Most Support units have a long usage life (down into the late game i find) because they would still be relavent on a changing battlefield. MGs suppress, Snipers are for the Arty lovers and those who like to put some fear into their opponents, AT guns have it written in their name, and mortars can help stem the tide of endless blobs.

The reason I wouldn't give the Specialists Sniper Scopes and Improved Sights is because they would make the Sniper virtually obsolete (except they can't camo) They would have a higher range, easily destroy most squads at long range without letting them even get up close. I would imagine a lot of screams of OP!!!!! Of course unless you are planning to make them similar to the Brit Scout Section which is pretty much useless (my personal opinion) in the late game.

To Keep up their later game effectiveness, i would give them the Schießbecher and give them the ability to shoot HE grenades or AT grenades (alternate with a button but it has a 20 second cooldown time to make sure that you can't go straight from Infantry slaughter to Vehicle slaughter)

The HE grenades would vastly improve their Infantry effectiveness and help take down buildings from long ranges while the AT grenades can destroy vehicles (M8s!!!! and Stuarts) when you don't have any other AV support.

It would make them more effective in the long run of the game and give them the late versatility that most good units would need without being too OP.

Of course it is your idea, so consider please do consider what i have said but do anything you would like
