New to CoH
« on: December 05, 2010, 10:38:03 PM »
Okay that's a lie. I'm not new to CoH but I have not played it in a very long time and I remember little. How can I get good quick? I want to play Eastern Front and not get my ass kicked terribly every round.

Get your ass kicked is only one little part of your practice to become a decent player.

When I started to play CoH I suffered heavy defeats...the fast way it's continue to play PvP (skirmishes are useless) and learn from your mistakes every time. ;)

That's untrue. Just find decent opponents that also have EF and add them to friends list. You can have loads of great games that way. I add everyone I see who has EF and is not a skirmisher. I had about 20 games last week. Also, there's the Saturday night thing. It's just a pity that I'm usually asleep here in Australia else I'd be on for sure every week the whole time.

To answer your question: The strategy sections on Gamereplays and here will help with build orders etc. Micro/macro and finding a strat you're comfortable with will just come from spamming games. So make an alt account if you care about score and play 30+ games so you get the hang of EVERY FACTION. Don't limit yourself. After that start developing your own playstyle and begin playing for real again.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.

If someone kicks your ass to bad, you can always ask for some tips on how to improve your game, when you wait for the WP to count down. Most people will give you and advice or two.
Also if you save replays where you lose, you can post them on the forum and ask for help on how to improve. Even if you think you know why you lost the game a better player might be able to see something you didn't.
Good luck.

That's a good point. Post your replays in the strategy or replays forum and we'll help you with more specific advice.
