[1.3.1.0] Soviet Tanks
« on: April 16, 2011, 06:11:34 PM »
One question:

Why do SU-85/100 and IS-2 have such huge splash radii?
I thought those tanks, especially the SU-85 are for Anti-Tank duty and not for smashing infantry  >:(

SU-85 is more useful against infantry than a StuG or Panther tank since when it hits, it can take out several soldiers at once, or even a full squad.

The only tanks who can destroy infantry and tanks decently at the same time are the super heavies (KT, Tiger, Pershing, JP).
In my opinion, the amount of splash damage should be reduced for soviet AT tanks (SU-85/100) and the IS-2.

Agree with tank destroyers, IS-2 is ok.

I wouldn't worry about it. The devs are changing stuff around at the moment and this is one thing that's likely to change.

The only super heavy thats any good at killing infantry is the Tiger tank, jadP sux so do the rest :)
And pershing only good vs infantry until you get the AT upgrade, in which case you trade AT for AI

And yes the IS-2  was designed to be good vs infantry. And I put IS2 in same category as Tiger tank they weren't super heavys just heavys.

If the su 85/100 is having its anti infantry capabilities nerfed I hope that the su100 upgrade is having its cost reduced, because its useless, I hope this being adressed along with t34/85 upgrade.

SU85 stats are re-designed and SU100 has been taken out of the faction altogether for now.

IS2 fires too slowly to be effective against infantry. Because it fires too slowly, it has to be more accurate so you can at least land the odd shot and have even a small effect.
Just because it can take on a panther, doesn't mean it has to work like one in every respect. Its more like a... less damaging/less sturdy tiger
And the damn thing carries a 122 field artillery gun

:o :o :o for better or for worse Zerst? Would you consider changes to su85 a nerf or a buff? :( I liked the Su-100 it was a beast and I loved it included to game because they did take part in the war I just thought the 150 muni 50 fuel was asking way too much

Key words in there are "for now". SU-100 may return in a different incarnation soon.

It also looks like the SU-100 sometimes has no skin and just shines white.

That is the skin for snowy maps...try it in another one without snow (Prokhorovka, Kursk, leningrad etc...) :)

It's not a skin for snowy maps, it's a bug. Otherwise the skin wouldn't look so shiny and clean ;)

Simple question will the cage armour be changed to an upgrade for the SU-85 or just removed along with the SU-100.
