Panzerjäger Bren 731(e)
« on: June 22, 2011, 05:37:33 AM »
This idea is kinda out there, so much so its most likely not been mentioned but Ive run out of ideas and thought WTH. An optional replacement for either the Wehr Puma or PE AT halftrack might be the Panzerjäger Bren 731(e) starting off with a MG42 mounted in the gun port (with or without the standard MG42 stats) and its triple Panzerschrek mount as an upgrade

And what, replace a puma with a Bren that can be killed by small arms fire?

It would upset balance. A MG42 with a Triple Panzershreck? That's almost half or even worse of a Sherman's health, let alone other tanks.

There were very few of these in combat, thus slashing the historical reasoning even though that is less important.

I'm sorry but I say no to this. This is one of those units that is oddball and was rarely used in the war. It was a captured weapon and thus would be a nearly identical copy of the British Bren just with a OP Shreck outfit. All light vehicles would be in serious danger to this thing.

I agree with Cranial on this, but what a wild idea. Just the thing for the 21st Panzer Division in Normandy.

What does the symbol on the left rear skirt signify?

Lol, sounds interesting, but would massacre any M8s that got within range so I have to say no.

     Good idea though.

I also agree with Cranial. Seems like an OP version of recoilless jeep, it has something of an Eselschreck too..

Its already in another mod: Heeresgruppe Nord Mod

There you have a call in Bren with a 3 men Gren squad in it equipped with a Panzerschreck (needs good micro, but its fun)

You can also use a SdKfz 250 garrisoned with two double-Panzerschreck-Grens as PE..
Good micro and the win is yours.

Yeah I was thinkin it might be OP and that the whole captured thing would be a problem. I was going mostly for whether or not it would be easy to put together. I wasn't sure where it would fit in so I chose the Puma or Light AT HT off the top of my head.

The problem is that was decided to only have 4 reward units for each faction. Most likely we aren't going to add a 5th one except maybe for the Wehr and its reward skinned Tiger because, most players find it doesn't fit the role of "reward unit".

Something for the Ostheer maybe? Any idea if any of these were deployed on the Eastern front? I think it would be a pretty cool and unique vehicle.

Iam one of these guys who prefer cute girls rather than hot nice looking girls. I think the same thing when it comes to tanks . This little beast (that i havent heard of before thank you! :D) its absolutely adorable! :D<3 Imo its YEs<3

To balance it out. Skip the mg42, just let it have the panzerschrecks. Otherwise I think its rather well balanced? A fast little anti tank vechicle. Who flank the enemy, fire those rockets at the enemy and then retreats to reload because of the small health ^^

The only downpart I actually can see is that we already have the bren in the game. Its like the british and the American m17 . Kind of boring thats the exact same model used twice in the game :C There are other german or captured vechicles to use for this kind of unit ;D

My English is kind of useless. But that because Iam swedish Wooohoooj! ;3

Actually, i think it would be pretty cool to use it since it would on the other side.

If you modificate a vanilla coh unit than EF would be a mod not an addon ;)

Tell that to the Jagdpanther :P.

Nah, sometimes we found models that worth to be included, like the pershing, the sherman, the jagdpanther, scopeless gewehr for PE grens, etc., sometimes we add stuff to "fix" some wrong stuff than anyone could classify as laziness from the developer ;D. Nothing major ofc.

What i meant with that is that Wehr probably will have a 5th reward unit (not jagdtiger).
