T-44 existed, some of 1800 produced took part in WWII on european front. I rather would ask: why? SU-76 is great, and I don't want to replace it. And there was about 12000 produced, so it was much more common.
Please, don't suggest World of Tanks veichles...at 80% they are prototype never builded.
