A "smurf" is a person who is fairly skilled and has a fairly high lvl account. They then procedd to make a new account with a low lvl (obviously lvl 1) and use that account to sucker low lvl players to joning their game and losing to them . Some people also make a game and use their low faction lvl to bait ppl in, and when the game is full, they switch factions and start the game. If you don't pay attention then you're fucked . For ex if you make a game and chose PE and you're lvl 1 with them. Then some1 joins and you swtch to Wher which you are lvl 10 in Its fustrating to actual low lvl players b/c you wont know that you are outmatch untill the game progresses. You can tell if they're a smurf by looking at their record but most new people don't know to do that. It's okay if you don't know what a smurf is . I didn't know what it meant either until recently
I suppose that makes sense, but everyone is so suspicious for some reason. Oh well, I've lost 2 games now due to my allies quitting on me. First one had to "walk his dog", as if it was going to die if it didn't get outside. The 2nd one just sat there in a 4v4 so I had to cover the entire right side by myself.Oh well, I think I'm going to stick to 1v1s.
I do love beating smurfs though. It's so much fun joining a random game where there's 2 newly created accounts on a team (obviously a team) and you countersmurf and join it with your level one account.
The Relic server only arranges 1 match at a time I think, so people before you have to get assigned first. If they don't have good connectivity, it will stall the search and nobody will be able to get a game for awhile. Automatch will initially look for someone your level but will slowly expand the parameters if there aren't any to be found. It will go from even level to +/-1, +/-2 etc. every 20s or so. Every time the 1,2,3 numbers up the top flash green, it is expanding the search.
Always ask your opponent what you could've done better. Every loss should be a learning experience.
