It wasn't a Brit tank, they just had a tendency to name American tanks they received over Lend-Lease

BTW is there a real tank called the Paladin ???. Im under the impression there is a artillery tank called the Paladin :P. Was there a General Paladin ???. That would be a cool name  :D

I think self propelled artillery follows the practice of naming things after church related things, aka M7 preist

of course the brits started the practice of naming tanks after generals and self propelled arty after church stuff

actaully, i meant its more related to church related positions, such as deacon, preist, sexton, ect
