I have noticed quite a tip in the balance aspect of the Panzer Elite's Scorched Earth doctrine abilities vs. Soviet infantry. The booby traps will downright eliminate Conscript, Ingenery, and Strelky squads rather than taking their health way down or killing a few men. I know this is the point of the booby trap, but this is a bit of a different situation. The booby traps will almost always completely 1-shot any squad I just mentioned, and it could be a serious problem if unchecked.

Any thoughts, guys?

Do you mean they will instantly kill 1-2 men or they outright kill the entire squad ???

From what I've seen, they will downright eliminate entire squads of Conscripts, Ingenery, and Strelky. Its a bit OP.

I think thats a mistake (not what you've seen but what happening). They should not be taking out whole squads, just like 1-3 people. I think this is more of a balance concern  :P

I have seen similar things, they have a chance to wipe out squads, but if you could post a replay it will help others.
They are in front of us, behind us, and we are flanked on both sides by an enemy that outnumbers us 29:1. They can't get away from us now!

If you stay there long enough to see the fire crackers explode right in front of your troops, then your squad will be heavily punished, and that applies for any allied faction's squads AFAIK.

It didn't happen as often, though the booby traps still one-shotted a couple squads of Ingenery. I do agree with blackbishop, it could be just the comp not moving troops. Not entirely sure if its a balance issue specifically to do with EF, but at least its worthy of discussion and ruled out to not be a balance issue.

Booby traps can kill anything if they don't move. Strelky have exactly the same (more after upgrade) health as a rifle squad. It's just an AI issue or a noob issue if they don't move.

No Replay but  it happens. AI squads do not withdraw before health < .65?.  AI squads retreat when health = .45. As long as a squad is in the incendiary area of effect it will take additional damage. Does anybody know what the initial damage is from a boobytrap? If it is applied on a man by man basis it could one shot a squad. The Ket and the CT abilities are two different strength boobytraps AFAIK.

Each explosion kills one guy. Ketty traps only have 1 explosion followed by fire while the PG trap has like 3-4 explosions with fire in each one. IDK exact dmg :(

When we speak of AI here, we do not refer to Computer players, rather, the pathing the troops take and how long it takes for them to actually respond to their orders.

Besides, it's not even a problem...

After viewing the above replay I agree with Dennis. It's a L2P issue to dodge the Booby Traps or they took a bad path or they just simply didn't respond to your order correctly due to other issues (Lag, Performance, Bad Internet, etc...)

This said, I think this thread can be closed because the conclusion has already been reached that this is not a Soviet issue.
