First, some history -

Quote from: Wikipedia
Pavlov's House (Russian: дом Павлова—dom Pavlova) became the name of a fortified apartment building during the Battle of Stalingrad from 27 September 1942 to February 2, 1943. It gained its popular name from Sergeant Yakov Pavlov, who commanded the platoon that seized the building and defended it during the long battle.
As you probably got from that short history lesson, this is a historical map set in Stalingrad around the famous/infamous 'Pavlovs House'. The map is based on actual aerial pictures on the area around Pavlovs House, although I have taken some Artistic licence and cratered the fuck out of it ;)

Although the house itself isn't anything special (I haven't made it indestructible or anything), it is a semi-strategic position on the map as it is next to two Victory Points (in VP mode), overlooks a High Munition point, has windows on all sides and is perhaps the only safe building on the map (that is, it's not on the verge of collapse)

Its seems pretty cool, but why don't you just put it in the next patch, so everyone will have it?

lol, Seeme... I love your optimism...

I could leave it for the patch, but i'd like to Beta test this since Zhytomyr flopped like a fat man falling from a building. I have no idea when the patch will be released, but hopefully it won't be too long... if people get off their sphincters...

Great work, I like this map, especially the square, but on the 3rd pic the ruins seem a bit empty, just like there are only walls of buildings that haven't been finished. You know, you could place some furniture objects or destroyed roofs. Keep up the great work  ;)

Could I test the map? I mean just for safty because my computer isn't that good just wanna look how much FPS I'll get (hopefully not 25 like in Zhytomyr).

The map runs good afaik. On my PC anyway. There's no massive lag spikes, you can see my FPS in the top left hand corner on the images, keeping in mind that my FPS drops a little when taking screenshots.

Added a tactical map as requested.

Sorry I haven't uploaded yet... 4 days till Uni deadlines, having to work like a madman.

Not so sure about the VP layout. I tried placing them horizontally but the fighting was too widespread for my liking, I love epic matches where people all concentrate on taking a single VP leading to some fierce VP battles.

Also, the fuels are all low, Tanks don't come for a while, making this map quite an infantry/light vehicle fest.

I wouldn't mind some Resource layout and VP layout pointers, i'm always shit at laying this stuff out effectively.

Put the 16+munis to corner 5+ fuels, add 10+ fuel at the 16+ muni spots.
That should give the players something worth fighting for whoever holds the middle has the fuel = win

+1. Truly, the middle must be worth it, so the most resources have to be 'round it.

+5 fuel for every player and +10 fuel in the middle

I donno, he says, it's an "infantry map". So +10 fuel might be too much. Make it +8 and place it near the central strategic point, and I'll agree.
And +16 ammo appears to be too much as well. IMO, +10 would look better.
But I'm far from being a pro, so it's just how I view it.

every player needs fuel to tech up, even the soviets. so +5 for every player is min. but you must have something to fight for so +10 or +16 fuel in the middle. Rest can be +10 Mun, but lets see how Burro will surprise us  ;D
Cant wait to test the map

I'd agree re fuel/muni.

Although, don't screw over us poor PE players! We need at least +10 fuel within grabbing distance to be effective....

Visually, I'd maybe like some more rubble, flames and smoke?
A few burning tanks and cars, ruined HT and planes?

Looking good!
And Zhytomers a great map, just a bit laggy :)

Oh, and I love the concept and back story of this map!
Well done!

Well, I would have had it ready today but WB is a pile of steaming crap and crashed while saving. So, i'm going to have to layout the sectors again, but it probably won't be for another 2-3 days while I finish work. ::)

Nearly done. Been trying to get the AI working better, usually if they start near the Volga they just build units and don't leave the base area like morons. Top HQ points are all good though.

Put a single High fuel in the middle. Now, don't worry your little heads PE fans, there's still plenty of fuel for AC's to dominate the Soviet swarm...

PE dominating Dom Pavlova (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73BGq2UHA20#)

I also swapped the VP's around and put medium Muni points to either side of them, but the middle is still the bit to go for all that High Fuel goodness.

Sigh.
Sorry this has take so long, WB has been a total pain in the ass. I managed to get things sorted though, apart for 2 muni points that need to be swapped. Currently the Northern players will have a slight advantage in Munis, I cannot swap them because now WB crashes everything I try and open the map :-\

Anyway, here's the download finally. Have fun over the weekend -

Good map, but Ai jsut sits in their main areas, esp if on the side with Dom Pavlov.

Haven't played Human yet, but I'd say itll be a blast :)

Yeah, AI on the Dom side like to camp in it's base... seems to happen a lot on my maps, maybe they're just too uber for the AI to handle :P
