the tanks are kinda weak, i mean, you start out with the Panzer III, Marder II, and then after some upgrades skip right to the heavy tanks. and if you have the tiger thing, you would end up supporting a heavy tank with what is essentially a light tank. The Panzer IV was a critical part of the Ostheer, and cutting it out is just ludicrous. you would do better to put the PKW III in with the Panzer Warfare building as an early light tank to counter the t70, rather than waiting to build a light tank in a late-game building. I dont know if i like the idea of replacing the Panthers with Tigers, granted the tigers are near-undefeatable in the right hands, but replacing my only (so far) heavy tank option with a slow, expensive unit of which i may only have 2, i dont like the odds of that, regardless of how powerfull they may be. of course, adding a medium tank like the PKW IV would even that out considerably, but still, it sounds like late game my tactics would have to slow down to allow for heavy Tigers.

couldnt you simply use the skin on an existing building? like the Krieg Barracks or one of the PE buildings?

you could have it so that it builds like Barbed wire (although as one continuous line) but having to build stations to secure points, and then the pioneers build the wire back to the base or to the closest secured point, sounds unique to me.

the map is just far too big to be a fun 4x4, you need to reduce the playable space, re-org the resource points and replace the bridges a little, the reason being is that whenever i play it, it lags pretty bad, and against AI, they dont even leave their base, i played a VP game and won having only encountered a kettenkrad, a volks squad, and a sniper during the whole game, and when i rolled a t34 into their base, they had assualt grenadiers and tanks just sitting around doing nothing, its just too much city for the system to handle

the best way ive found to kill it is to ambush it. try luring it away from the main battle with an expenseve unit (a tiger, KT, a few panthers) while holding up the rest of the soviet force, get it isolated and then hit it from the sides and rear with camo AT or stormtroopers with Panzer schreck, make him think hes winning and them crush him.

ive updated the veterancy system a bit, its a cross between the PE and Wher, but then again, that is ultimately what the ostheer is going to be.

Bugs & Tech Support / tank damage

when the soviet tanks get damaged (I.E destroyed gun, broken treads) they dont show any external damage, and the schematic of the tank doesnt show any red indicators, damaged and destroyed engines flame, but nothing else. is this a bug, or and oversight?

hello, i would just like to ask why all the tanks look like they are barbie-cars with guns attached. All the tanks are way too small when compared to german tanks and the infantry, why are they so small?

historically the Ostheer did have access to the best armor and infantry, this is more than a meer reflection though. Regular German factions, with the possible exception of the PE, are COMPLETELY useless against the Soviets, and the panzer elite even cant do anything, without a HMG and any cheap mobile artillery, they are easy to steamroll mid game. The purpose of the ostheers should be to give the player a strong but quick beginning, which slowly hardens to more defensive, stronger units till the end, this is the only way to counter soviet rush tactics. if the Russians can spam t34s and is-2s, the ostheer needs to spam panzer IV, panthers, and a few tigers. 88's are a must for defensive purposes, and without mg34-42s and mortars, your defenses will be destroyed easily.
